Hate

Reviewed - August 10, 2021

I hate that this tire is so popular. Destroyed my wild am and now I’m switching to an enduro on the rear but can’t find the 29er anywhere. I wouldn’t have this problem if these tires weren’t so damn good

I also ride the DH34; would really like to see the magi-x dh compund available in a lighter casing such as the Wild Enduro series

I ride desert SW in Arizona, rocks and loose over hard. I like the traction provided by the front Gum3x but find that it is very sensitive to the psi, one or two too high and it slides 1-2 too low and it squirms. Cornering is great and the knobs hook up well. The rear has a controllable, predictable and fun slide in corners but then hooks up well. Riding uphill the smaller knobs do allow for more tire spinning up steep loose sections compared to a DHR, but that also means good rolling speed on the downhill. Due to limited supply I am running a front on my rear now and getting better uphill traction. SO slightly larger rear tire center knobs would be nice. I find that the tires are robust in most situations. I did have a front sidewall cut that I sewed up. Two of my rear tires had failures at the bead with separation and like an elongated cut of the bead at the rim and I can see the chords. This happened unfortunately pretty early in my tires' life and did send me to a new brand but that didn't measure true to size so back to Michelin. Oh I have always had bad sidewall weeping with my sealant but a friend that I turned on to the Wild Enduro has not. Seems to be a sealant thickness difference. I want to try a Wild Rock'r but 2.35 is too skinny so if that goes to a wider size of 2.4, or 2.5 I'd be in. So far I've turned several people on to the Wild Enduro out here in the desert.
