A tire consists of a casing, rubber, a bead and a tread.
CASING
A tire’s casing is made up of threads, the thickness of which varies according to the range to make the tire, robust, flexible, efficient and lightweight. The more threads there are, the finer they are, making the tire lighter. On the contrary, the less threads there are, the bigger they are, making the tire stronger.
TPI (Threads Per Inch) refers to the density of threads per inch.

RANGES : MICHELIN Force AM and MICHELIN Wild AM

USE : Enduro
3x33 or 3x60 TPI casing specifically designed for Enduro.
RANGES : MICHELIN Enduro tires

ROBUSTNESS, LIGHTNESS, RUBBER COMPOSITIONS
Rubber is one of the key components of a tire. It provides different performance characteristics according to its composition.
3 levels of rubber composition :

TRI-COMPOUND
A combination of three different rubber compounds providing different performances. Available in the Competition Line.

BI-COMPOUND
A combination of two different rubber compounds providing different performances. Available in the Competition and Performance product lines.
MONO-COMPOUND
Available in the Performance and Access product lines.
2 RUBBER SERIES

Series of rubbers which combine different performance characteristics: grip, performance and durability.

Series of rubbers specifically designed for Enduro use on the front tire, which offer outstanding grip.

ROLLING EFFICIENCY, GRIP, OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

Tires with the E-Bike Ready label can be fitted on electric bikes (25km/h).

UST Tubeless Ready tires can be mounted without an inner tube, providing :
- a tubeless wheel is used
- the maximum pressure is not exceeded
- sealant is added
- the tire pressure is checked before each ride

On mixed and muddy terrain, Enduro or DH riders often need to cut their blocks to improve grip and steering precision. MICHELIN responded by designing and patenting a new generation of tread which makes it easier to cut the blocks and ensure consistency, saving a lot of time (MICHELIN Wild Mud Advanced and MICHELIN Mud Enduro).
PINCH PROTECTION
Reinforcement on the bead to absorb energy where pinch flats occur (MICHELIN Wild Enduro Rear and MICHELIN Force Enduro).
