What makes the difference between a BMW M star (*) marked and non marked tire?
Michelin is making major modifications to achieve the BMW M specifications: additional 2.5 years of develoment, 8 testloops with 30 versions tested on 5 different locations.
As an example, to design exactly the tire that meets the expectations of the BMW M3/M4, the tire geometry of the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S* has been modified: different layer tension, belt design, shoulder rigidity, groove depths and locations. But the biggest difference between the star (*) marked and non marked tire are the compounds.
