The reviews present a mixed sentiment about the tires. Some customers report positive experiences with good tread life, handling, and overall performance. However, a significant number express dissatisfaction, citing poor tread life and premature wear, as well as issues with traction, handling, and sidewall durability. While a few customers had great all-around performance, the negative reviews appear to outweigh the positive ones, suggesting these tires may not be a reliable choice, especially for trucks and SUVs.

Best tire for short trips
First off, this tire has a bad reputation. I think the reason people don’t like it, is they’re using it for the wrong purpose. The Primacy is not for off road use. It will perform well for long trips, but its life won’t last like the defenders. This is a fuel efficient tire-low rolling resistance. It is best suited for stop/start city driving, and/or highway driving if you are going to drive less than 55,000 miles in 5-7 years. 7 years is about as long as you want to keep any tire on the road; thanks to the sun and oxygen in the air.

Don’t buy them.
The Michelin primacy ltx came on our Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited L. Now with less than 13000 miles on the Jeep all 4 tires are being replaced by me. One at a time went flat with a split in the sidewall next to the tread. I thought someone stuck a knife in the first one so I replaced it. Since supposedly vandalism was the cause I had to pay. Now 2 weeks later the forth tire just went flat with the same kind of hole. Now I see where others are having the same problem. Don’t buy these . Just don’t.

disappointment
on a mileage of 13k, my rear right tire blew on the inside. There were no impacts. There was no damage on the rim or under the bottom. I conclude that these poor wheels are specially installed on new cars at a counter price, because... they are absolutely miserable. shame on michelin

No good
I bought my new grand Cherokee and I thought for weeks something was wrong with my brand new jeep turns out these tires were doing the same thing but flattening out during cold temps and bouncing. It was horrible. I looking to buy new tires for this vehicle already.

Flat spots
Came with my 2024 Santa Cruz, not good, when in cold temps they flat spot over night. Takes 8 miles or so of driving for them to quite bouncing. Took to dealer did not help and Michelin refuses to help with problem after contacting customer service. Was told dealer fixed and did not. Come to my house and drive on cold morning and anyone would hate the bouncing. Im sure no one cares. I have had many Michelin tires over the years but these are junk.
Dcruz, sorry you are experiencing this issue. A member of our team will be in touch to help with this.

Nice Quiet Ride but Wears Extremely Fast - Disappointed
The Primacy LTX 245/50/20 came factory installed on my 2021 Kia Telluride that I leased brand new. I will say they do offer a quiet nice ride and even wear, but that's about it. They have worn very fast and the wet traction is ok at best. This is definitely not a 55,000 mile tire. The dealership has done all my maintenance and rotations every 7500 miles. I'm at 28,900 miles total and I'm already down to 5/32 tread so will be needing to replace very soon. At the $260/tire price tag, I'll be looking for something else.
RDel90, sorry to read your tires are at 5/32, but they still have some tread left. One the tires are near the wear bars, we'd suggest getting an inspection of the tires (while on the vehicle) from an authorized retailer. Ask the dealer to call us at 866-866-6605 while you are there.

Wore out by 32k miles
Came stock on our 2022 Telluride SX Nightfall edition. Car has 32k miles and the tires already need to be replaced?? I want a credit towards new tires because there is no way in hell these will make it to 55k miles!!
SXOwner, sorry to read of this. We would recommend taking your vehicle in to a local authorized tire retailer for an inspection of the tires. Ask the dealer to call us with their findings while you are there at 866-866-6605.

Great Tires
I bought a new truck with these tires, truck rode amazing, I got 60,000+ out of Michelin primacy’s. Absolutely love them I’m on my second set, hopefully to get another 60,000+

Worst tires ever
Do not buy, i slide all over the place on brand new tires. So disappointing

Known Issues With These Tires?
These tires came on my 2024 Telluride. We’re heading to the mountains soon so I was reading up about the tires, and I came upon all these reviews commenting about the inferior durability and quality of these tires. I’m now hesitant to drive on these tires. This seems to be a known issue. Is Michelin offering the option to replace these tires? I have always used Michelin tires. Pretty upsetting I can’t drive on these tires with confidence.
Gman_SD, you refer to a known issue, there is no known issue with this tire. We suggest getting an inspection of the tires prior to a trip. Have the retailer call us with any questions. We can be reached at 866-866-6605.
