Review Summary

Customers are sharply divided. Many report catastrophic failures—delamination, sidewall blowouts, and rapid tread wear at 12,000–36,000 miles, far below expectations. Several describe multiple flats without visible damage, with tread wear indicators appearing at 15,000–28,000 miles. Others note hazardous wet-road handling, hydroplaning, and unstable feel on grooved pavement. A smaller group praises smooth, quiet rides and confident handling. However, most expressing concerns describe profound disappointment, feeling the brand has abandoned quality standards. Despite some positive experiences, the overwhelming consensus reflects eroded trust and widespread durability failures.

Burst in 11th Day

We paid more to get Michelin tyres for our Mazda CX9, trusting the name. It burst on the HWY on the 11th day. My son could have died if he was not already in thw right lane. All the trauma and emails to the company thay offered us a credit for one tyre, which was a "generous exception". They were offended that we returned the tyre and bought different ones. Never buying or recommending Michelin again. The way they handled the whole situation was unexpected from the so called "reputable" company.

EXCELLENT TIRES EXPERIENCE

My 2022 KIA TELLURIDE came equipped with these. At 49,646 miles the tires have been flawless on an AWD vehicle. Many long trips throughout CA and out to VEGAS, the asphalt roads very hot to touch. Also the roads leading from San Diego up north to e.g.Napa are in poor condition, especially through LA. Have never had a PANIC STOP or driven in snow/ice so cannot comment on those conditions. Sorry to hear of other owners bad luck but I've drioven Michelins for over 50 years w/o problems, and I do drive hard. JDB

43,000 Miles and no issues

These tires came on my 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz. I drive mostly in Arizona and the western states, usually in perfect conditions on paved roads. I have 43,000 miles and about 4/32 of tread left, these should go 50,000 but I am looking for replacements. I was surprised by the negative reviews I saw here, my experience has been very good so far. My Santa Cruz is very quiet and road noise is not an issue.

I recommend this tire

Reasonable fuel efficiency, quiet for normal driving, easy rolling, good traction with new tread... time will tell, not showing wear at this point. Only about 8,000 miles so far.

Horrible tires

These came on my 26 Silverado and the tramlining with these things are unsettling and to the point of giving me vertigo. They also are fairly noisy at normal speeds and have bad vibration at highway speeds. My 24 Silverado with another brand didn't have this issue. Trying to get the dealer to do something about them but so far no luck!

Tread is too soft and easily chipped and cut

The 265/65/17 Privacy tires came on my new 2023 Nissan Frontier SV 4WD Truck. All four tires have 20-40 cuts and chips missing on the tread due to driving on limestone gravel roads for approximately 50 days/year for 3 years. The chips are fingernail sized and approximately 3/8" -1/2" deep. The left front tire is now leaking and becomes flat overnight. These tires came standard on a new 4WD truck and should survive small limestone gravel. The rubber seems to be entirely too soft for a truck tire. I do not recommend these tires.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Primacy LTX tires. This is not the performance we expect, especially on a truck application, and we understand your concerns with the tread chipping and air loss. We recommend having the tires inspected by an authorized tire retailer. Once you have the inspection results, please contact our Consumer Care team at 866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST) so we can assist.

Really Solid Tire

Despite all the negative reviews, these came standard on my santa cruz and I've driven them in Boston winters, the jersey shore, construction jobsites etc and they've performed super well. Notably, driving back up to Boston in january after winter break, I was cruising at 70 on the highway while it was snowy/rain mix and I felt totally safe in the grip department. In fresh snow on roads that are untreated they perform decent but nowhere near a dedicated winter or all-weather 3pmsf tire. I've towed 3,000 lbs with them on road trips a few times and they've done well. At 30K miles right now and very minimal wear showing. Not sure how people are getting horrible results with these but I've actually really enjoyed them. Only downside is snow traction, but that's to be understood considering it's an all-season and not 3pmsf. However, for the price, get something like the Cooper Traction Command--a far better all-around tire that is 3pmsf rated and will do the job in any condition while providing most of the primacy's handling and comfort benefits.

Disappointing Tread Life

Very disappointed. 36,000 miles and 2 are at 1/32 on 2 and 3/32. I purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee from my local Jeep dealership with these tires on it. I was very pleased to see Michelin tires on it. We are Michelin strong here in Greenville, SC. I have always been a big fan of the Primacy tires in the past. I have had them go 85,000 on another SUV. They were not LTX's back then. Also, These LTX's are much noisier than what I am used to from Michelin. We did everything right from the beginning. Always rotated at the dealership. Air always monitored and filled at the specifications. 36,000 miles on a brand new vehicle is unbelievable to me. Now I am on the hook to buy new tires because the dealership cannot even rotate them based on the tread. The dealership was no help either. Washed their hands with it and told me to take it up with Michelin. Then I saw the ratings of this tire on the Michelin site. Seems I am not alone.

Rides Well, Handles Well.. But literally blew out at 10,000 miles.. No nails or nothing.. I've gone through a lot of tires in my life and i have never the had a 10,000 mile tire blow out... I visually check my tires every day, and check air pressure once a week so yeah these tires are definitely low quality and too soft!!!!!
