Primacy LTX vibration at 68 MPH

I bought a new 2025 Lincoln Navigator for a local Lincoln dealer. This vehicle is fitted with the Michelin Primacy LTX tires. From the very beginning, I am feeling a vibration at exactly 68 MPH and above. Does not appear to be an alignment or warped brake rotor issue (vehicle tracks and brakes straight as an arrow with no steering wheel "feel"). As a result of my complaint, the dealer did perform a balance check on each wheel/tire assembly and found one tire that was out of spec. Not correctable, so they replaced it but the problem still exists. They researched TSB's on this vehicle to see if there was a drive train vibration/imbalance issue but none found. The only other option they offer is to lend me a new, like-model and wheel package Navigator and have me road test it to see if the problem can be replicated for comparison. My question to Michelin: can you offer a suggestion to me that I can forward to the dealer service manager?

We’re sorry to hear about the vibration you’ve encountered at highway speeds. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we appreciate the steps you’ve already taken with your dealer to diagnose the issue. We recommend following your dealers advice. The dealer’s suggestion to road test another Navigator is a good step to rule out vehicle-related factors. If the issue persists after these checks, please have the dealer call us while you’re there at 1-866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST).

Squirrely

Recently bought acgmc sierra heavy half w trailering package. The primacy ltx tires seems to wander on grooved pavement on on truck lane where semi flat tires have grooved the pavement. Seems a bit squirrely on groved pavement.

We’re sorry to hear about the handling concerns you’ve experienced on grooved pavement. Road surface patterns can sometimes affect tire stability, especially with certain tread designs. Our records show that a member of our Consumer Care team has already reached out by email and recommended visiting your local tire dealer for an inspection. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at 866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST).

Nice smooth ride

I’ve had Michelin tires all my driving years. Very happy with the smooth ride and performance of this tire.

Great cornering and wet surface performance

The Michelin LXT tires are design to be a great match for my Toyota 4Runner. They run very stable in heavy rain with no hint of hydroplaning. They are running very quiet and the grip on cornering is exceptional for this SUV. I believe that the wear life of these tires will live up to Michelin's excellent reputation.

I replaced the OEM 3 yr old GY Wrangler tires on my ‘22 Chevy Colorado! Night and day! Better ride and oh so quiet! Better in the rain too. I don’t go off road so after 1500 miles I know I made the right choice!

Good solid tires

I have been choosing Michelin tires whenever possible for many years. I can't say they are the absolute best, but among the options available on the market, they are certainly one of the top brands. I used to think that Michelin tires were somewhat overpriced, but in the U.S., their cost is quite comparable to other well-known brands. I have developed a consistently positive opinion of the Michelin brand. I’ve used their tires on various vehicles, including an Audi Q7 with 18-inch wheels (255 width, if I remember correctly), and recently I purchased a set of Michelin Primacy™ LTX® tires for my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder. Over the past 15 years, I’ve driven on Michelin tires in a variety of conditions — and the vehicle’s behavior has always remained stable and predictable, which deserves real respect. Handling with these tires is sharp and very responsive. There's no sense of a “spongy” steering feel — the car turns exactly as much as you turn the wheel. That gives confidence and allows for better control in real-world situations. Primacy™ LTX® is a soft and comfortable tire with excellent grip on asphalt under different temperatures and weather conditions. I haven’t used this tire in freezing conditions, but from +5°C to +45°C (41°F to 113°F), its behavior on the road has been consistently impressive. This is truly a comfortable and reliable tire. On hot California asphalt, at the manufacturer’s recommended pressure, it may feel slightly firm — but still well within acceptable limits. Overall, Michelin is one of the few brands I truly trust. I hope the company continues to maintain its high product quality and doesn’t go the way of some other manufacturers. It’s nice to have a brand you don’t need to research endlessly or read hundreds of reviews about — you just buy it, install it, and enjoy the ride. It’s one of those moments when you know your money was well spent and you’re genuinely satisfied with your purchase.
