Dissatisfied
I have been using these tires on my f250 work truck before I could get 90-100,000 out of them (highway miles) this last set i struggled to get 68,000 and all wore differently 2 are down to 2 one is a 4 and the other is a 5. The 2 are on one side, my truck has been checked out and right before these tires were put on my front end was rebuilt. So that is a factor for the amout of money that it cost me for these tires I should have gotten more out of them.

Disappointing
I have ran Michelin tyres on all my pickups. LTX was preferred until the production stopped. I moved to the Platinum Series as recommended. Since original purchase, another set was installed. Each set the attempt to get the tyres balanced is ongoing. Two different companies have attempted to balance. Road force as well as typical balce has been performed. It feels like the tyres are out of balance or round. I am very disappointed in the overall performance of this tyre series. Road noise is much more than the LTX, ride in my opinion is rougher, fuel economy is not close to the LTX series and balancing and staying balanced is frustrating. My pickup is on the highway daily, dependability, performance and ride are must. The michelin defender platinum does not meet expectations. Mike Mike Perry
Mike, we’re sorry to hear about the balancing challenges and performance concerns. Balancing issues can happen if weights shift, tires aren’t seated evenly, or road force variation exists. We recommend visiting an authorized dealer for an inspection. If we can assist or answer any questions, please call Michelin Consumer Care at 866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST).

Difficulty with balancing
Switch from defenders ltx to this tires. Had to come back 3 times to rebalance, as it was impossible to drive over 65 due to vibration. Road forced balancing numbers always high. Had to replace 3 out of 4 tires just to get acceptable level of drivability. Still feels less than perfect on highway speeds. Very disappointing.
Russ, sorry to hear about the balancing issues and the inconvenience caused. We recommend visiting an authorized dealer for an inspection of the tires. They can check for installation related causes. If you would like to discuss further, give the Michelin Consumer Care team a call at 866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST).

Looks great on a 4x4 truck
I just put these on a 2004 4x4 truck.... Smooth, quiet, ride and performs excellent in wet and light snowy roads so far. Best of all they came in the exact size I was looking for, and have a more aggressive look which fits exactly with the truck Awesome.

Great brand great tires
Great set of tires for reliability for my family. Noise and build is important to my family and these are great for off roading. It's a good brand !

Unhappy
So I purchased these 10/25/25 after reading every review I could find. I made a conscious decision to go with these over the OEM Michelin Defender LTX I had 60000 miles on. The Platiums are quieter and look really good and come with 70000 mile warranty. But they had a few reviews that stated they pick up debris in the new tread design. I was going through a clean paved intersection in the city and picked up a 3/4 in bolt in the tread, Before I could stop it pushed all the way into the tire. It let us stranded. My wife and I are handicapped so I called Michelin Roadside assistance to change the tire. The location link they sent me didn't work, so I sent them a Google Maps Pin drop. I completed the call, all is good. I received a text say 30-85 min ETA. A hour in I called to check the repair trucks location. I was told it was canceled and they would dispatch another repair truck, he stated he would call me right back once he had the paperwork completed. Another hour went by and no call. ( By this time I had called Ford's roadside assistance) The Ford repair truck was on seen when Michelin called back. I get that tires are not bullet proof and it was just the right object at the right time that got stuck in the newly designed tread pattern. But the roadside service was horrible and wasn't ran from the United States. I was extremely polite, there was no reason I shouldn't have received a call when they canceled the repair truck. Unacceptable business practice. Even more so they knew we were handicapped I am very concerned that I just spent close to 2000.00 for tires that are going to give me 70000 miles of trouble. I now am questioning the materials and construction of the new design. The specifications state they are equivalent to 10 ply tires. 30 days in and had to replace one already. I don't think so.

Tires a great pattern and work well in mud and snow.
I haul a lot of large loads, and I am on by third set. I get about 50000 miles on these tires, they hold up well.

Michelin Fan
Purchased these tires only one week ago.. So far I'm impressed with the smooth ride, handling and how quiet they are. I'll post another review after I put 10,000 miles or so on them. BTW... I've purchased Michelin tires for over 45 years; Class 8 trucks, trailers and plenty of passenger vehicles... never had an issue whatsoever.

Very quiet
Just had these tires put on so far very impressed. The ride is great. They are very quiet and just seem like a very well engineered tire.

Not any better than any other tire.
Don’t expect any warrant support for a defective tire. They will just claim it’s your fault. This tire blew out of no where without hitting anything. This is my first and last set of Michelins. Also, don’t expect any good faith discount to be easy, they want you to jump thru hoops. Picture of your registration, of the tire installed, receipts. Not a good customer experience compared to other brands.
