The new tread design is state of the art, that goes with the long lasting tread wear they advertise for LT or EV vehicles.
I’ve had these tires on for a week, since swapping my winter tires. The handling is outstanding., the smooth feeling on the steering wheel is outstanding, it’s early days yet, but I have faith in Michelin and the Defender platinum tires I bought. Do yourself huge favor and get your Michelin tires ASAP.

Good traction and quiet.
Smooth ride and quiet.

Amazing tires
Simply put the best tires I have ever owned. I drive more than 120,000 miles a year, more than half of those miles are towing trailers from 5k to 12k. I am on the road all the time and do not rotate my tires. I bought the set of Defender Platinums for my F-350 SRW in March of last year. 140,000 miles later the fronts still have 10/32 of tread while the rears have 4/32. I have never gotten even half the miles as this set of tires has given me. I went from getting new tires at least twice, but usually 3 times a year previously, to now sitting at 14 months on these. Highly recommend these tires.

I bought the tires today took them out on the freeway they handled great they look good very happy with attraction and performance and definitely quiet

GOOD BRAND
SO FAR SO GOOD

Long-Term Review.
First off, I drive approximately 30-40k (mostly highway- towing 2-3x a week 6k and 12k lb trailers) miles a year. With that said, I would always need to replace my tires every 8 months or so. Therefore, with tire prices the way they are, I’d spend approximately $3000 a year on tires; which is stupid in my opinion. There isn’t a tire out there that I haven’t tried in 2002. I drive a Ram 2500 (Cummins) Limited MegaCab. The Firestones that come stock I would get 12-14k miles. I tried the standard Defender LXT- got 17k. All the others would be around 20-25k miles. The prior tire to the platinums were both the MT Boss and Legends. Both much better than any other tire I have tried previously- at 28k and just over 30k. I almost bought the MT again bc it was the longest lasting tire I’ve owned. However, I wanted to see what the Platinums were about, therefore, I was the first my tire store ever installed; I requested them and they got them for me, never hearing of/seeing them before (295/65-20). I was impressed with the looks. Although, not as aggressive as the MT’s, they still had a nice sidewall, and super quiet! I’m currently 22k miles in on the tires and they are less than 50% gone. Therefore, I should be able to hit 50k with no problem; and this is pulling trailers, too. Although, I’ll be honest, the traction in the rain is not the greatest; spins when starting from a stop with the trailer and if you go in the grass when it’s wet, you may get stuck- not joking. However, overall, I’m very satisfied and will definitely replace with the same tire….. I’ve found the tire that works for me where mileage out of the tire means the most. I know this will be hard to believe, but my MPG went up 2mpg at cruise at 72mph, too. Hope this helps, as I know it was long. However, when I would spend time researching tires, I could never get a thorough review.. long time review etc.

Bought for 2021 3500HD Denali. Dry roads and excellent ride! Next day 4” wet snow with road ice falling temp -10-20C! Tires in 2wheel drive was below average so require 4WD stop and start! Note: I use studded winter tires in Alberta Canada!!

Great tire and good looking !
Bought these a year ago for my 2001 F-250 Super Duty 4X4 lifted 4 inches, to replace my all terrain. I was skeptical and currious about these new threads... What a difference on the road ! These tires stabilized my truck , no more swerving from the old all terrain, no more rumble , no more road noise and comfortable ride. I have been looking for a tire that has style, and Michelin nailed it with this one !! Love these Defender Platinum. Want to replace your noisy rought handling all terrain, with a quiet good looking great handling tire ? This is the one you need !!

Does not deserve the Defender name
I would like to preface the review to a comparison of the former defenders I’ve used over the last 20 years. I personally believe Michelin failed with this tire. The economy, ride noise, ride and traction are lacking horribly compared to its predecessor, the MS2. I purchased these tires and had 2 of them go bad at 36,000 miles. They replaced all four and now I may be having the same issue with another tire. If the only advantage is a 70000 mile warranty, it was not worth it and I hope they bring the real defenders back.
Ram3500, we're sorry to read of your disappointment in the Defender LTX Platinum. We recommend to take the vehicle to an authorized Michelin retailer for an inspection of the tires. Give us a call from the tire dealer. We can be reached at 866-866-6605 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri.
