The 2 front tires on our 2022 Lexus RX-350 are falling apart! I always thought of Michelin as a top tier tire. What in the world is going on. Can this be safe? TNX, S. C.

I had a flat tire and it needed to be replaced.

Great tires but do not last
These tires came as standard equipment on our new 2021 Lexus RX350. Wow, some people got a lot more mileage than we have so far. My wife drives safely and carefully (no wheelspins, etc.) and we rotate them every 5-7k miles. Recently she had a nail in one and Discount Tire and the dealership said she needed new tires (we only have 16,600 miles on them!!). I insisted they repair the hole created by the nail and have to agree, they are getting close to the wearbar. They are very comfortable and quiet tires, but we'll be lucky to get 20,000 miles out of them. I insist on Michelin tires for all of our vehicles but find the treadlife on these tires very disapponting.
Andergj, we are sorry to read that your tires are nearing the wear bars. The first step is to take your vehicle to an authorized retailer for an inspection of the tires. Upon inspection, give us a call at 866-866-6605 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri so that we can get the dealer information, the dealers findings and determine next steps.

Tire meeting warranty is very questionable?
I purchased this new SUV from the dealership four years ago and included as part of the purchase a maintenance contract. Every 5K miles, I consistently took the SUV for the prescribed maintenance (e.g., oil change tire rotation, etc.). Yesterday, I had the annual state car inspection and it failed because of tire treads. The tire warranty for these tires is advertised as 60K miles, the tires on the SUV is 48,200. I have reviewed many tire reviews from various web sites and found one common problem with these tires is often they don't meet the 60K warranty.
Disappointed customer, the original tires on your vehicle do not have a mileage warranty. However, we will be glad to discuss the condition of your tires with a local Michelin retailer. Take your vehicle in for an inspection of the tires and call us afterwards so that we can discuss the dealers findings and determine next steps.

Premier LTX
Purchased 4 new tires after orignal tires wore out. I only had about 35,000 miles on the tires and had a very small nail cause a leak. The tire dealer said the treads were very low and recommended replacement of the tire. I refused and they fixed the flat but the realization that the tires only lasted 35,000 miles was very disappointing. Supposedly they have a 60,000 mile warranty. I have faithfully kept the SUV serviced according to Lexus schedule with rotation and balancing done on schedule. I have never purchased anything but Michelins on my vehicles for 30 years. The irony is that my 2016 Ford F150 has Defender LTX tires are going strong with over 70,000 miles on them. I will replace the Premier LTX on my Lexus RX 450h with Defender 2's. Unfortunately the $80 rebate just expired. No information when the next promotion goes into effect. I hope I can wait until then to replace the tires.
Rich59Will, thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback. You are correct that Michelin replacement tires have a mileage warranty. We suggest that you take the vehicle back to the tire retailer for an inspection of the tires, and initiate a mileage claim. Should there be any question, you are more than welcome to contact our team at 866-866-6605 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri for assistance. Ideally, you would call us from the tire retailer's store while you are there.

Those tires were original equipment on our brand new 2022 Lexus Rx350 and are gone at 30000 miles. Rotated at every oil change and still made only to half of advertised life of 60000 miles. Avoid.
Paul, there are many factors involved in tire wear. We will be glad to address the issue. The first step is to take the vehicle to your local Michelin retailer for an inspection of these tires. Give us a call at 866-866-6605 while you are at the retailer's store. We can be reached 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri. We can discuss the dealer's findings and determine next steps.

Inferior tires on new 2018 Equinox Premium LTX tires
I am 74 years old and purchased my first new car, a 2018 Equinox. My husband addressed my tire problem, before the 6 year/60 K Michelin Promise Plan Warranty, when his Dad, also having tire problems on his Equinox, got new replacement tires. Each month I took my vehicle to the dealership due to the inferior Premium LTX tread durability problem, I was told I had to put more miles on my vehicle. I now have 12K on the tires and was finally able to have the dealership address Michelin. I was told this week your company will not stand behind these tires. When I purchased my vehicle I expected a long tread life and winter capabilities as 2 of my priorities. I also found out these tires are not considered all season tires. I live in WI and we do have snow and ice. In checking websites, all the ratings are around 2 star ratings because of the tread problem and lack of durability, although you do note the tires “even when worn” still stops shorter, etc. There is a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Service Bulletin against these tires. Bulletin No. 19-NA-078. Wondering why Michelin, in breaching the tire warranty, false advertising and putting inferior products on my vehicle, will not stand behind your products, customers and dealerships and why I am not allowed any compensation for new durable tires. Does Michelin feel I need to replace my original Premium LTX tires for safety concerns when I have only driven my car 12K.
Bdge, we are sorry to read of your concerns, however, our records do not indicate that we have discussed this concern with you or your tire retailer. Please contact us at 866-866-6605 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri so that we can get an inspection of your tires and determine next steps.

In February, 2022 we purchased my wife’s forever car - Lexus RX350 - the second we have owned. Our dealer at our regularly schedule maintenance told us the tires needed replacing at 40,000 miles - not the warranted 60,000. So we only got 66% of the WARRANTED tread wear. Does the word not mean that you promise that the tires will last? In my world (I’m a practicing attorney), you get sued if you breach your warranty. From the reviews, someone needs to sue you for selling such a poor product. And now you want me to buy replacement tires from you? Can you believe it? I’m surprised Lexus puts such an inferior product on its vehicles!
Hunt1955, we appreciate your feedback. Please refer to the Michelin Promise Plan as seen on the webpage https://www.michelinman.com/auto/assistance/warranty. The treadwear warranty is for a specific mileage, and as the warranty indicates, if the mileage is not received prior to the tires reaching the wear bars, we will allow credit based on the mileage received. Should you have further questions, please give us a call at 866-866-6605 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri.

Very disappointed in the Michelin Premier LTX tires.
Very disappointed with this Michelin Premier LTX set of tires! I bought a set of these tires on September 23, 2023 and as of 12-30-2024, have only 16,118 miles in the tires and they are hydroplaning like crazy and the west bar is even with the tread and Costco has not been very receptive helping with any adjustments for these tires prompting me to contact the Michelin Customer Care phone number to begin the process of assistance with these now dangerous tires.
Faithful Michelin buyer, we are sorry to read of this complaint. Our records indicate you have been in contact with our Consumer Care team. Please refer to the email sent to you previously to continue our assistance in helping to resolve this matter.
