Defective tires - horrible quality and customer service
I purchased a Michelin Commander III Touring Rear Tire through RevZilla in November 2023, expecting the same quality and longevity I’ve had with Michelin tires for the past 10 years. Unfortunately, this tire developed severe tread chunking in fewer than 7,000 miles, despite careful, conservative riding. I monitor tire pressure regularly, never overinflate, and avoid aggressive maneuvers like burnouts. My rides are typically under an hour, even on highways, and I maintain my bike meticulously, consulting with mechanic colleagues as needed. For context, the stock rear tire on this bike, a Michelin Scorcher, lasted over 20,000 miles without issue. I’ve also run Michelin Commander II tires for a decade without any failures. I reached out to RevZilla and Michelin regarding the defect, providing photos, videos, and mileage records. Unfortunately, Michelin denied the warranty claim, citing generic causes such as “riding habits” or “normal wear,” despite the clear evidence of premature failure. Given the tire’s failure, I am moving forward with disputing the purchase through my bank and having independent shops and mechanic colleagues inspect the tire. I am also preparing to submit a BBB report to document this as a consumer concern. Overall, I’m disappointed in this experience. While I have had excellent experiences with Michelin tires in the past, the Commander III did not meet expectations, and the warranty process has been frustrating.

The C3 Tour Front and Rear
Hi, I ordered (from RevZilla) a set of the C3 Touring tires for my Harley Davidson 2009 Ultra Classic. The C3's tires have a deep think tread with a strong sidewall. These tires are a fantastic choice for the Ultra Classic. They grip very well in tight corners, sweepers, as well as a power stop. In the past, I have used the American Elite tires and I think the C3's provide a better ride. I highly recommend these tires for a Harley Davidson Touring bike.

A good tire
I just ordered another C3 to replace the front tire on my 2009 FLHTCU. These are good tires.

Great performance, But…..
Been running. The C3 for a while now. First front tire was warrantied due to vibration, with the replacement tire vibration continues. I’m sure it’s from a manufacturing defect with the molds used. The mold seem is still vey much visible even after several 1000 miles
Hi Alex, we're sorry to hear the vibration issues are still ongoing. We recommend stopping by your local tire dealer for a quick inspection—they can help pinpoint the cause. Terrible tires for mileage, terrible customer service!
I am very disappointed in Michelin Commander III quality and subsequent customer service. I have purchased 5 previous sets of Commander III's and I loved them. Against the advice of the Harley dealership which say all negatives I insisted I get Michelin tires on my bike. I have believed Commander III's smooth ride and superior handling were far superior. I have seen many posts with complaints about the low mileage you get from these tires. Now, this spring I put on Michelin tires again, paid double the price of others but was OK with that because I want great products. I am not an aggressive rider but this set lasted me less than 5000 miles. That's unacceptable! I emailed Michelin twice with my concerns with no response. I called Michelin customer service three times and left a message with no response. I replaced my tires yesterday because cords were showing on my back tire after only 5000 miles and the service department at Harley laughed at me and said, "we told you not to go with Michelins!" I am very frustrated because I have told hundreds of people on my many road trips how much I recommend Michelin Commander III tires. I will now tell as many people as I can how terrible the tires are for any longevity and how Michelin was unresponsive nor cared to make the situation right in my eyes. This is not the way to treat your long time customers Michelin!
