Thank you Michelin
Put the PR4GT on the back of my 2016 BMW K1600GT after the PR5GT started rubbing the swingarm. The 4 rear with the PR5GT front turned in quicker than the PR5GT and the Dunlop 3 rear. I have done one two thousand mile slab run with the 4 and numerous mountain twisty trips. Took a day to get used to the quicker handling and then woohoo. I see the PR6GT are available for my K1600GT so I will go to these tires when the 5 on the front and the 4 on the rear fad away. Michelin always stands by their products even when things go *doink* and that means everything. I have been buying their tires for my bikes for 30 years and will continue to do so.

Front tire deforms in hot climate
The GT2’s were not available so I went with the 4’s. The front tire deformed, not the usual wear nor from mis-alignmentI. I agree with the other AZ review but decided to test another set with higher psi. I have gone through Metzlers, GT2’s, and now 4’s on this bike with 45k miles. I was running the same psi as on the previews sets. I confirmed the alignment and will run a higher psi as mentioned. I think Michelin shouldn’t just assume a rider doesn’t know what he is doing and not take this seriously. I unfortunately disposed of the deformed tire, but will send this one to them if it deforms after riding in the AZ summer heat. I have been riding for over 30 yrs so I have experience with alignment and mounting tires.

Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT vs Road 5 GT
Going back to Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT. Road 13,000 miles on one set on a BMW K1600 GT. Replaced them with Road 5 GT and only got 5,000 miles. Road 5 GT has great grip but not worth the difference in mileage. Road 6 GT should be the newer version of the 5 GT, so Road 4 GT is it for me.

Tires deform in hot climates
I live in AZ and often ride in heat. The tread is warped and deformed on my front tire even though there is still considerable tread depth left.
Hi JT. Thank you for your feedback on your MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT tires. Our tires are designed to operate in a very wide range of ambient temperatures all over the world, including arid climates found in the southwest. Although heat and excessive heat cycles can contribute to fatigue in the rubber, it is not the cause of irregular wear or tread distortions. The condition of your tread may be caused by other factors such as underinflation. Unfortunately, irregular wear cannot be reversed but we encourage you to check your air pressure and ensure you are not overloading your motorcycle so that you can optimize tread life on your next set of tires.

I am staying with the Pilot Road 4 GT's
I have been using the 4 GT's since they came out. I tried Bridgestones, Pirellis, Dunlaps Metzlers, and even the 5GT's. I have returned to 4 GT's each time and am so satisfied with them i won't try anything again. I am on my third BMW RT and love the 4 GT's I can get twice the mileage from a set, and the dual compound is perfect for my 50/50 riding, aggressive in the twisties in East TN and Western NC, and touring gentle sweepers elsewhere. Excellent grip in all conditions. Cold weather and summer heat. Rain and slushy snow. They have NEVER gotten me into trouble. I have even plugged a rear tire in Yellowstone and rode home 1,800 miles!. One a price per mile basis the cheapest tire i can buy, never mind it's the best. On long trips I can get about 8,000 miles out of a set. Local mixed riding is about 4,500. Still about double that of other brands in similar conditions. (I ride about 20,000 miles a year).

the best tire
good grip any time, rain to thunder shower, feeling very good. best tire, for kawasaki concours 14

Does everything very well.
I prefer mostly winding country roads on my trips. I've read horror stories about k16 owners burning through some brands in 1500-2000 miles, it made me hesitate to buy the bike. These were my first replacement set, 4500 miles later and they're still holding up very well. I'm OCD with my tire pressures and I believe the continuous curves help wear the tread evenly...no flat spots yet. I do occasionally accelerate, corner, and brake hard and they grip very well even when the surface is cooler than ideal.

K1600 GTL Confidence regardless of weather
I’m now on our second set of PR 4 GTs. Replaced OE tires at approximately 7000 miles. About 150 miles after mounting I got into heavy rain. The confidence these tires gave me was immediate. After 10000 miles I replaced them with another set of PR 4 GTs. Took a 2 up 4000 mile trip through the southeast USA. My wife and I would be hard pressed to consider another tire regardless of price.
Hi Randall, thank you for your review and you confidence in the MICHELIN brand! We appreciate your feedback.

Great tire!
6000 miles on my BMW K1600GTL and they still have miles to go. Great handling tire, especially on wet roads. Will replace with same.

The best ever.
Road 4 tires are the best available in heavy rain. I ran into a downpour west of Bangor last year. The highway was like a river and traffic was moving fast. My worries fell away when the tires stuck to the pavement like glue. Excellent performance on dry pavement too. Always pleased with Road series tires.
