Review Summary
The tires provide good traction, especially in wet conditions, and offer a comfortable and confident ride. However, some customers reported experiencing vibration and noise issues, particularly at higher speeds, though this issue may disappear when the bike is leaned into a turn. Additionally, a few customers noted the tires wore out prematurely, requiring replacement after around 5,000 miles of use.

Worst ever. Horrible grip in any moisture
I have about 6K on this back tire and was in a light rain in a freeway and the back of the big was kicking out left and right. No one should ever buy these. They are very unsafe unless it's perfectly dry roads. I even had them kick out on rail road tracks.

Great Traction ONLY 5K Miles
I purchased a set front and rear and had installed professionally on my '97 HD Fat Boy. 5000 miles in one season and the rear tire wore to the belts on the rear. The front looks like new! That being said the wet traction was exceptional! I rode in a heavy rain storm at 70mph on the highway with now loss of traction even through a few unexpected puddles.

Vibration
My tire was the front comaderII, after install I had a vibrating at 48 to 52 mph. Took it back to the shop thinking it was bearing or bad rotor. They said there’s nothing wrong with bearings or rotor. 11,000 miles later still same vibration so I pulled the bike apart and replaced bearings and rotors. Still same vibration. I’ve used these tires for years with no issue. Also the rear tire is cupping really bad and never had this issue before. I’m not sure what has happened to these tires? At one time they were the best! I just ordered a commander III I Hope they have the problem fixed.

HMMM in more ways than one
I have over 7,000 miles on the set I purchased and installed by a dealer. Tread wear so far is great. As in no real indication seen. Pushed my Harley FLHTK hard in turns and acceleration and breaking. Tire is total confidence inspiring. Been in super heavy rain on the interstate where cagers had to slow to 45 and no surprises. Now for the ugly. Pretty significant hum from the tires. Front end wobbles slightly (no hands). I thought it was head or swingarm bearings. Took it to an independent shop. Mechanically everything was good. Still has the wobble. Both the shop owner and a Michelin representative suggested I take them back to the dealer I purchased from. I went in and was told there is nothing wrong with the tires. Wobble wasn't present when I took the bike in for them to be installed. The wobble was there almost immediately after I got it back. I like Michelin tires and will get another model (Scorcher) pretty quick. Bad mojo for safety on these skins. Relatively new and pretty expensive tires that I will have to trash. I don't want the liability financially or morally of reselling them. Verdict: DO NOT BUY.

these are great tires
Keller cycle tire and service sells hundreds of these tires a year, they sell themselves.

BEST TIRE ON THE MARKET
Okay see you hear a lot of people making claims on their reviews of buzzing in the tire and some vibration, I will tell you that who's ever mounting these tires doesn't know what they're doing and needs to follow the proper policies and protocols for installing tires, I have been using Commander 2s and Commander 3s on all my motorcycles and have never experienced anything but great performance and incredible handling. I see a lot of people not taking care of their tire pressures and making sure that the tire is seated properly on the rim, if you are having problems with vibration it has nothing to do with the tire and if you look there will be a seam or a line on the commanders that show you that the tire has been mounted properly if this seam around is not even that is the problem is you have a clown mounting the tires or not balancing them properly. It's absolutely ridiculous to hear people make these claims about a tire that is nothing short of amazing. As far as traction and wet surface traction and longevity there is not a better tire on the market hands down.

Good dry weather performance
This tire is great on turn in and dry grip. it does have the vibration/ handle bar buzz everyone complains about. wet traction is fair. poor acceleration traction in wet on lines or tar snakes

Terrible after sales response
Purchased a 180 65 16 Commander III for the rear of my Nomad bike. The tire is so noisy I had to take it off. Michelin claims the reason is because my bike OEM size is 170 70 16 and I have mis-applied the tire. Lots of others have used this size with no problems. Their warranty is useless.
Hi Mai, motorcycles should be equipped with the size of tire specified by the motorcycle manufacturer or the Michelin fitment guide. The only recommended sizes are those that are listed by the motorcycle manufacturer or the Michelin fitment guide. Do not mount tires wider or narrower than the original equipment tires, either of which could negatively affect the motorcycle's handling.

Buzzing Commander 3's
Everything was good until 3,500miles. The buzz/vibration between 45mph and 60mph on a 2017 Street Glide. Turning these junk tires back in Harley Davidson. Clears up on turns and over 60mph. Disappointing that they still make this tire with all the same issues.

Excellent life but bad vibration
I have just replaced my set of Commander III's on my 2017 Harley Davidson model FLHTK. I have gotten a little over 21K miles out of the set and I could have gone to 25k miles. Excellent life but there was a constant vibration at the handlebar since tires were installed. The tires were also very slippery in wet conditions.
