Good Grip But Noisy
I purchased these for my 2017 Harley Street Glide and replaced the factory Harley Davidson tires both front and rear. I have always run the Commander II on my previous bike and chose to try these. For the first 2 weeks, I was impressed with the traction in both dry and wet weather as well as the handling. After the first 2 weeks, I can hear the tires and it gets louder the more I run them. It was bad enough that I thought it was the wheel bearings and had them replaced only to find out it was the tires. I cant talk on longevity but I am sure they will last as long as the commander II's because they show minimal if any signs of wear. Performance wise, these tires are great but would not purchase again due to the noise.

some info on backordered tires would be nice
i ordered front and rear commander 3 tires over 3 and a half months ago. the front one has been sitting at the shop the whole time. the rear tire a 180/55/18 has been on backorder the whole time. cant find any info on when it may be released. do i keep waiting or buy something else. was looking foward to putting them to the test on my cvo roadglide. any news would be better than none.

Production of some MICHELIN motorcycle tires including select MICHELIN Commander III tires has be unable to keep up with demand due to Covid-19. However, more tires in this size will be shipping to our distributors by late February. Please keep reaching out to your dealer to find out when his/her back orders will be filled.

No communication from Michelin
The tire started coming apart with out warning, I still have the tire and can send pictures. I tried to contact Michelin and never received an answer. I believe you owe me compensation for a poorly built tire.

Not as good as the Commander 2
The Commander 3 front tire is makes much more noise then the Commander 2 and seems to vibrate when going straight, gets quit while cornering. Problem go's away when you put a new Commander 2 or a Dunlop back on. Tried 4 of the commander 3 front tires on different bikes and had to replace all 4.

HI Anna We apologize for the limited supply of the 180/55-18. Unfortunately our manufacturing was also affected ongoing pandemic, similar to many other manufacturers. Although this tire has been on back order, I am glad to inform you that inventory is on its way and will be restored by early January. Please check back with your distributor beginning of next year.

commander 3 rear tire still on backorder
i have now been waiting almost 3 months for the rear tire to come in and cant find any info. thank god i was just replacing my tires because i wanted the best tire for my 2013 cvo roadglide. i look forward to putting the tires to the test if they ever get sent. any info on them would be greatly appreciated. tire size 180/55/18

Although this tire has been on back order, I am glad to inform you that inventory is on its way and will be restored by early January. High pitch buzz thru the bars at highway speed
This is my first time running the commander's, after I put on my front tire I now have a very irritating high pitch buzz coming thru the bars at highway speed. I can't afford to throw a another couple hundred on a tire, but can't keep this one.

Commander III
Purchased Commander II's last 2 sets to replace OE Dunlops on 2 Harley Ultra's, 2015 & 2018. Excellant tire reduced humming that the Dunlops produced. First ride with the RCIII on my GF 2015 with the III's she stted that she feels a vibration above 40mph. As winter is setting in I will ride her MC soon to verify this. She doesn't have the seat time I have, a I have over 63 years riding, 20+ years as a Police Motor Officer all on Harleys. I believe in Michelin and do hope they address this problem with their customers. Safety issue at the least. I rated 1 star on everything because this review wouldn't submit without a rating. Will re-submit after more miles are obtained.

High Frequency Vibration
I noticed a high frequency vibration with the front tire, many of my customers report the same on their touring bikes that I installed the Com III's on. I also noticed a howling sound from the rear tire at certain speeds, one other customer reported the same. I love the traction and mileage, but would rather go back to the Commander II's. Too bad they quit making my sizes.
Vibration/Buzz - Front Tire
Put these tires on my 2019 Street Glide and had a vibration/buzz in my bars from 50 - 60 mph while straight and level. As soon as I roll into a turn in either direction it went away. Got so bad I replaced both tires within 3500 miles with Dunlop American Elite's and now have a smooth and enjoyable ride again. Quite disappointed in having to pay for 2 sets of tires. I expected better out of Michelin.
