Review Summary
The tires provide good traction, especially in wet conditions, and offer a comfortable and confident ride. However, some customers reported experiencing vibration and noise issues, particularly at higher speeds, though this issue may disappear when the bike is leaned into a turn. Additionally, a few customers noted the tires wore out prematurely, requiring replacement after around 5,000 miles of use.

Don't buy these
Bought these due to miles wear longevity. Immediately picked up vibration in front end. Michelin claims these tires aren't even for my bike. But they show them on my bike in a picture on their site. They refuse to help due to tires being purchased on ebay.
Hi Rogers We are sorry you are having issues with your Michelin Commander III tires. Which motorcycle are you riding? We are happy to verify.

Stop selling these for Harley Davidson Motorcycles
I just purchased these 29 Jun 2021. I received feedback vibration through the front suspension at all speeds. During 20mph-40mph it feels like the tire is coming apart. The tires were professionally mounted and balanced and the wheel bearings are good. I have never experienced this until I used these tires. Searching online, Michelin has had this problem since day one, well over a year ago. I do not trust these tires and want a refund. I do not want a defective exchange where I will most likely get another bad set of tires and have to pay $250 to have them installed. Only to repeat the process. I used to only buy Michelin for my vehicles. I will not buy another Michelin tire now.

front tire is noisy at 55 mph
These sound like truck tires at 55 mph. They are now like the classic Commander II's. The front is terrible.

Bad Tire
I have had Commander 2 and were great. Installed commander3 front tire with commander2 on rear and not even 20miles on it vibration had rebalanced and new bearings installed by dealer and still same vibration. Not Satisfied at all. Had a long distance trip planned. So im going to have to find another brand so that i dont loose $3000.00 for trip. Dealing with Revzilla from whom i bought it through and may take week or 2 to get answer from there warranty dept.

Vibration at 30 and 50 mph (2012 Road Glide front tire)
Getting a vibration at 30 and 50 mph. Vibration goes away when rolling to either side. Only vibrates when riding on center of tire. The rep I spoke with at Michelin sounded surprised and asked for proof it was tire and not bearing or balancing problem. I had tire rebalance after my first ride and still the same problem. I bought from BikeBandit and I'm past my return date. They also wanted proof it was tire. The tire actually handles very well in the turns and rides smooth, until I hit 30 and 50 mph. I have Commander 2 on the rear and had no issues...so far. Looks like I'm out $200 plus mount and balance fee...x3.

Do not purchase these tires for Harley baggers
Bought the commander III for the first time, horrible vibration starting at 30 mph and gets worse until I maxed out my tolerance at 55 mph. Took it back and replaced it with a stock Dunlop..... Looked on line and there are a lot of the same problems with the Commander III's. Now i need to figure out how to get my money back. Extremely disappointed, commander II's are great tires.

6K miles and no signs of cupping on the rear tire as yet!
130/80B17 front; 180/65B16 rear on my 2015 CVO Road Glide. So far......so good...... snappy handling and showing little signs of wear. All other brands I've used on my 2010 FLHTK and 2011 FLTRUSE had begun cupping on the rear tire by 6K miles. My only concern is an odd oscillating sound emanating from the front tire while cruising upright on the centerline of the tread. Tilt the bike either left or right and the sound disappears.
Thank you for your review, Denny.

Not for Kawasaki Voyager
Just had a Command III installed on my 2017 Kawasaki Voyager with less than 10k mileage. Prior to install, bike road as smooth as silk. As soon as new tire was installed on front, high frequency vibration on decel and 50-65mph. Not a good tire for my bike
Hi Jeff, thank you for sharing your experience on Michelin motorcycle tires. It is important for you and/or your installer to check the proper fitment of any motorcycle tire to ensure it is compatible with OE specifications. You can find the recommended tires on our website www.michelinman.com/motorcycle. Given the information you provided, we understand your rear tire size is 170/70B16, which is not available in any Michelin brand tires, so you may have an aftermarket rim. If this is the case, we agree with you that it is, “not good for my bike” and do not recommend running any Michelin tires on your motorcycle.

Commander III is a bust
Many guys I ride with bragged about how much better their bike rode with Commander II tires than H-D's factory Dunlop. By the time I need to replace mine, Commander III was out. As much as I dislike the Dunlop, they are a WAY better ride than C III. Vibrating "hum" between 50-60mph. Went back to shop where it was installed and they ordered a replacement. Replacement does exact same thing. I wish I would have looked on the reviews here before I purchase the new Commander IIIs. Live and learn I guess.

Too much vibration and howling noise
I put Commander III on my 2014 Ultra Limited a year ago and immediately noticed a vibration feedback in the handlebars around 25-30 mph. Then late in the year, they started howling at 55-60. So disappointed after a couple sets of Commander IIs on a couple other bikes. I’ll look for another brand, I’m starting to get the run-around from CS. They got my money, and don’t care about anything else.
