Best tires so far.
I had a Suzuki c50 and replace the stock tires that were worn out at 6,000 miles with the commander II and when I traded it in for my Harley I had 20,000 miles on them and still looked good. My only complaint was that they were a little slippery when the roads were cold and wet. So, when I needed tires on my Harley I went with the commander III tire because they were supposed to have taken care of the problems with the commander II. I have had them on for about 3,000 miles and still look new and handles really good. I only wish I could get these for my wife's fat Bob. I have not experienced any vibration at all with these and doesn't matter if I am running 30mpj or 120mph.

Buzzing in Straightline
These tires have a distinct vibration/buzz at speed above 30 mph in a Straightline. Lean them in a turn or changing lanes and it mysteriously disappears. I have a much higher expectation of a Michelin product.

Comm III 130/90B 16 73H Vibration in front end
I purchased a Comm III front and rear tires for my 2011 Harley Heritage Softail Classic and immediately felt a, I call it, high frequency vibration in the front end. so bad i couldn't see anything my mirrors. Contacted vendor and Michelin but both would not refund my money, only would send me a new tire. I replaced my new front bearings with new bearings thinking it was the bearings but it wasn't. I've also brought the wheel into my local Harley dealer several times and the last time was to inspect tire per Michelin. There was no visual signs of any defect. I bought a new original brand tire and the vibration went away immediately. Because we are told not to have different brand tires on front and rear, i have 2 Michelin tires in my garage with VERY low mileage on them unable to be used by me. Thank you Michelin and by the looks of it, this problem has been happening for quite some time now.

Fewer miles, more slippery in wet than Commander 2s
I'm a big guy, 275 pounds and ride a 2009 Yamaha Roadliner. I ride in Western NY and Western PA approximately 20-25K a year between April and October, a bit of November if I'm lucky. I loved the Commander 2s. Got 6,000-6,500 miles off of rear tires routinely and 12-15K off of the front tires. Excellent handling, very confident in rain. Commander 3s, I get 4,500-5,000 miles on rear. Excellent in dry conditions. Unstable on tar snakes and slippery in wet conditions. I used to ride routinely in the rain on my C2s, I do not do so on my C3s. My first pair of C3s failed spectacularly at 4,800 miles. Riding at about 75 mph on Interstate 86 in WNY near Corning. Suddenly, rear tire started feeling soft and unstable. Backed off throttle. Could not control bike and managed, by a miracle, to slow down enough before hitting Jersey barrier. Steel belts had started coming through at three points on the tire, lost air at one of those points. Nothing showing that morning with 3500 miles on tire. After this, attempted to switch to Dunlops, but order still not filled after ordering in February of 2021. So, I've been stuck with these. Very disappointed. Can't find C2s to go back to. Have kept some tires. Would love to send to Michellin engineers and answer any questions they have. Genuinely curious.
Hi Buck, thank you for your review. The award winning performance in wet conditions of the MICHELIN Commander III tire is uncharacteristic of the experience you are describing. constant vibration on front tire
Switched to Commander 3's from 2's due to the higher silica compound, was excited about the additional grip capacity it would provide. After a thorough winter service, tires, wheel bearings, fork and swing arm. I was looking forward to getting on the road. From this first moment I could feel a buzzing in my grips, I told myself this would go away after a brief breaking. This was not the case, the vibration has been consistent since the tires were installed, it is prevalent when riding straight up, it goes away while turning or doing a slalom type maneuver returning as you cross the centerline of the tire.. it has the sensation of a wheel bearing going bad.. tire has been reballenced which was fine and a second set of new wheel bearings installed to remove that from the equation. Problem still exists. Saving money now to go back to the Commander 2.as I don't have confidence in this tire while riding

Vibration Issues - Tires Should Be Recalled
While these tires do have good grip, any positive in the tires is massively overshadowed by the terrible issues causing vibration that transmits through the entire front end of the bike. From 45-50 MPH I get an intense "buzzing" sensation through the handlebars, severe enough that it also causes the fairing on my Road Glide to vibrate and make noise. At various other speeds you can feel vibrations in the floor boards, seat, etc as well. Apparently this is a known issue, but Michelin just keeps making the tires. I was initially told that it would go away after a break in period, but 3000 miles later it has only gotten worse. I've spoken with at least 6 other riders in person that are experiencing the exact same problem, including a dealership mechanic I had look at my bike because I thought perhaps the issue was my wheel bearings going bad. Michelin - shame on you for not taking this tire off the market until you solve the problem!

Surprisingly wears excellent on a springer front not so much the rear
The front tire has worn better than any other tire I've had in 90,000 mi for the rear though I don't get any more than 4500 miles I have a 200/55r17 the 90 16 front. For some strange reason this one also picked up more nails I had two flats throughout the tire life one single tire

Michelin 3 tires
Canned my old Dunlop's and tried the Michelin 3's front & rear, not impressed, dry ok, but wet hang ON! Or don't ride if you can, Be careful! Will try Metzler next time.
Hi Dan, thank you for your review. Our MICHELIN Commander III tires do offer exceptional wet grip. Do make sure to check your tire pressure often!
