Review Summary

The tires offer good handling, traction, and long-lasting wear, especially in dry conditions. Many riders reported excellent mileage, with some getting over 20,000 miles. The tires were also noted for their stability and performance in wet weather. However, some customers experienced issues like wobbling, vibration, and premature wear, particularly with the front tire. A small number of riders reported tire failures, including blowouts and tread separation. Overall, the tires appear to be a solid all-around option, but the inconsistent performance and occasional durability problems suggest they may not be the perfect choice for all riders and conditions.

Tire is splitting

Tire has low mileage under 10,000 kl. And now is cracking on one side ,not both sides was bought in Bangkok Thailand about 6 years ago looks like brand new I noticed this when cleaning the rear wheel ? I would have recommended this tire as I’ve liked it till I seen the cracks

Why buy anything else?

After two sets of dealer recommended Dunlops on my Harley it was time to try something else. I actually had the Michelin Commanders II on a 2012 Harley I owned and had forgotten how much I LOVED everything about them! From traction to overall feel of this tire, they are outperforming traction in both wet and dry surfaces when compared to the Dunlops. I'll update my review once I know more about the longevity / mileage I get out of the Commander II. I do recall them outlasting the dunlops by about 5,000 miles or so.

Excellent Tires

These are excellent tire. I have them on my 2011 Harley Electra Ultra, and do a lot of two up with my wife. I now have over 26,000 on the bike. Excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions, and they p\look like little wear in them. I had these installed at about 13,000. Will purchase again. They made my big bike handle more like a spot bike than a cruiser. Very comfortable ride.

Really Amazing Tire

Good grip when it wet, great when it's dry. Excellent wear. Really changed the ride and handling of my Indian Scout. I highly recommend this tire.

Really Disappointed

Went to Commander II's from the stock Dunlop 402's based on the recommendation of my local shop. I used the pressure states in the manual of 31 F and 36R and then went up 1lb on each as I weigh about 210. I live and ride in the mountains of N GA. My front tire which is an MT 90-21 is at the wear bars all around after only 4486 milea. Using a color coded yread depth gaueg, its in the red eveeywhere. On the stock Dunlops I would average between 5500-6000 out of a front. The rear Commander Ii is also at 4486 and it about 60-70% gone ( averaging 3.5-4 thousandths left) and is still somewhat in the green zone all the way around. At this point putting another new Commander tire up front will likely see the back wear out first as opposed to both wearing out together. I prefer tread patterns to match from front to rear so am likely going to waste the remaining life on the back and replace both with Dunlops. Based on what I was told I could expect mileage wise based on my shops experience, I am bitterly disappointed. I certainly did not expect LESS mileage They do handle well, but so do the Dunlops

2012 FLHX- Canada to Mexico and return

not even a sign of rear wear on this trip with temps ranging from 10c-40 C....smoother than Dunlops I have always used in the past (riding since 1967/ owner 14 mc's, four of them HD) Ride is smooth, handling excellent overall and cornering feels much more secure than Dunlop re. lean angles. Note trip was solo/ 200 pound rider/luggage only

They cause a front end bounce on smooth roads

My bike technician seems to love using these, but they cause a bouncing in the front end of 2 of my bikes that are completely different. one is a vintage Honda XL 600 and the other is a Triumph Bonneville T100. after he put this on the triumph i noticed it right away feels like riding a pogo stick. Tried checking the balance that's not the issue. Does it on smooth roads any speed above 25. He just put one on my Honda and bingo went from a smooth ride to the same problem. These tires are not round. Feels like a waste of $500. I am Very upset about this, I thought Michelin made the best car tires, guess they should stick to them and not Motorcycle tires.

Only tire I'll buy

I'm getting ready to order my 4th Commander II rear tire for my 2010 Stratoliner. She came with a Dunlop that absolutely erased in barely 3000 mi. I then tried a Bridgestone then a Pirelli. Same result. I had run Metzler ME880's on my Roadstar, but didn't care for the harsh ride. A buddy told me about the Commander II's and I thought couldn't hurt. Now these are the only tires I'll buy for my Strat. Excellent grip & handling, very nice ride on all surfaces. This summer I even ran out of pavement on a mountain road in Idaho and rode 23 miles on gravel without any problems. Rainy conditions pose no problem at all. Excellent mileage: I typically get 10,000 to 12,000 miles out of the rear and even more out of the front. Thank you Michelin for an absolutely fantastic tire.

Installed after buying cruiser

Had stock tires on the cruiser (Road Star 2015) that was following all cracks and snakes in the road. Bumps and holes were hard hitting making this bike feel cheap. Cornering was not accomplished without doubt. All gone with the Commanders. Running 42psi rear and 40 front. Can't recommend highly enough. Don't know for wet or longevity yet. 4stars as you have to rate.
