Review Summary

The tires offer good handling, traction, and long-lasting wear, especially in dry conditions. Many riders reported excellent mileage, with some getting over 20,000 miles. The tires were also noted for their stability and performance in wet weather. However, some customers experienced issues like wobbling, vibration, and premature wear, particularly with the front tire. A small number of riders reported tire failures, including blowouts and tread separation. Overall, the tires appear to be a solid all-around option, but the inconsistent performance and occasional durability problems suggest they may not be the perfect choice for all riders and conditions.

Catastrophic failure of rear tite at 75mph

Plenty of tread left at 5,500 miles - the tire was manufactured early 2019 and put in service at the end of the 2019 riding season in Maine. With no warning the tire failed - I kept control and reduced the speed to about 35 before losing control. The wife (passenger) had nine broken ribs, a broken collarbone and shoulder blade. Five nights in the ICU and $50K. I had 9 broken ribs and still have trouble walking. There was no damage from debris but the sidewall on one side came apart.

Rear Tire came apart

Would not recommend this Tire had less than 4000 miles on it when I noticed it was cracking and coming apart very dangerous

Great set of tires

I had the Michelin Commander II's put on my 03 Road King and got better cornering performance and they lasted longer than the stock Dunlops did. Going to put a new set of these on my new bike.

Changed review

I wrote a review a couple of days ago as PaulC. I thought I had a terrible front tire. Turned out I had a low rear tired due to a nail I must have run over on the way out of getting front installed. The timing lead me to think handling problems were due to new front. I was wrong. I am loving the tire now.

Not impressed

Got the rear tire first and have been satisfied with it. But the front tire. Very on stable. Can’t hold a line. Shifts around on a curve. I would take them off if I could afford to.

Low miles

I had a set of these tires installed on my 2019 Harley Davidson ultra limited in may of this year at a local Harley store in Littleton Colorado. I purchased them from bike bandit. They were installed at 7200 miles. I took the bike in Friday August 21 two days ago. The service writer measured the tread depth and it was down to 3/32nds in 4400 miles. They said they would not perform the work if it involved a test drive because the front tire was unsafe. I don't know what to think because if the supposedly highest mileage tires on the market have to be replaced three times a year that's really going to suck. Not impressed.

Rear tire failure

Went with commander ll’s in 2017 for my 1995 Road King. Tires have maybe 4k miles on them. I stopped for gas on a 4 day ride and felt a serious wobble as I took the off ramp. While I was checking air pressure the rear tire had a sidewall blowout, now I’m stuck at the Harley dealer paying for two Dunlop’s since I can’t get a Michelin replacement anywhere near Casper, Wy. My bike was not overloaded and I do a safety inspection before I ride. I’m sticking with Dunlop’s from now on.

Poor longevity

Bought these tires for my 2013 HD Fatboy because I was tired of getting less than 7,000 miles on a set of Dunlops. Bought based on the hype they would go up to 25,000 miles. Figured if I even got close I would be money ahead. They have less than 7,000 miles on them and I'm at the 1/32" point where they have to be repe extra money to get the same performance.
