Review Summary
The tires offer good handling, traction, and long-lasting wear, especially in dry conditions. Many riders reported excellent mileage, with some getting over 20,000 miles. The tires were also noted for their stability and performance in wet weather. However, some customers experienced issues like wobbling, vibration, and premature wear, particularly with the front tire. A small number of riders reported tire failures, including blowouts and tread separation. Overall, the tires appear to be a solid all-around option, but the inconsistent performance and occasional durability problems suggest they may not be the perfect choice for all riders and conditions.

Great wet traction, great longevity
Running this tire on the front of a 1993 Wide Glide. I live in Florida, and daily afternoon rains happen from June-September. I've tried The 'Harley' Dunlops, Dunlop American Eagle, and the Michelin Commander II. I wouldn't use the 'Harley' Dunlop (D402?) again if it were given to me. The American Eagle was a good tire, but after I got 27k miles out of a Michelin Commander II on the rear, I put it on the front, also. First fron tire that I've ever gotten over 5,000 miles out of (7,500 and counting). Not sure why I get so many miles out of a rear, and so few out of a front; friends say that I must ride backwards lol. Great wet traction, doesn't follow road snakes and Feels great when dragging pegs on sharp curves. I've found my tire. I know that they make a Commander III, but as long as I can get the II, I'm sticking with it.

Where the RUBBER meets the ROAD = more than a saying
I've spent a fortune on Dunlops and they wear out too fast. Shinko is garbage. Metzeler (Brazil) will NEVER be on another motorcycle I own. From the 25 degrees frozen prairie to 115-degree desert in Arizona, the Michelin is sticky where it is needed and holds tread for a long time. I won't bother trying other tires for my motorcycle and wish I had discovered them sooner. (I work in a motorcycle dealership and I tell people all day long about the quality and experience I have had with Michelins.)

Michelin Commander II tire are Awesome

Comander 2 Roadstar
Purchased my 2007 yamaha roadstar 1700 silverado in march of 2019 with a set of the comander 2 tires on them. Tire mileage was unknown upon purchase. I put 5k on it the first year and had to replace the front. Put an additional 5k on that same rear tire and plan to change the rear for the new season, New comander 2 in already ordered. Really impressed with the tire brand. Bike week i went on a 1200 mile trip with a group, All where amazed in how well the big bike would stick like glue for the turns we were taking at the speeds we were going. i could ride the cruiser in the twisties quicker than i could my 250 ninja and i am fairly confident its in the performance of the tires and near endless grip in dry conditions. Hit a few dirt roads through vermont and didnt feel a differance in grip. I have had a few lock ups with both the front and rear wheels and both times the bike stayed true and straight. I went from a ninja 250 up to a 1700 cruiser and was rather nervous about jumping to a big heavy bike, i weight 145lbs. The tires have added so much confidence in me as a rider in both rain or shine. The rear only would break loose in the rain if i gave more than 1/8th throttle but the rear was already worn when i purchesed. After seeing how deep the tread is on my new rear tire and how 10k hardly wore out the rear, more than it already was, i am confident that i can get many more seasons out of these tires. Looking forward to see how many miles i can actually put on the tires before needing to change again with new tires. I will absolutley always use Michelin tires on my Cruisers. I highly recomend these for anyone with a big criuser that puts on miles rain or shine. Michilen man has your back. Hes had mine.

Can’t beat the feel
I first put the commander ll’s on my road glide ultra at 12k miles when the stock Harley Dunlop’s wore out, 23,000 miles later I put on another set. The way these tires make my bike feel like it weighs half of what she weighs. The first time I put them on I stopped twice because I thought I left something loose, handling was unbelievable! I used to be a Dunlop guy as far back as the early 70’s but no more.

Long lasting and High quality
I've owned three sets. The first set I rode 23,000 miles front and rear. I had the rear tire go completely flat on the freeway due to a piece of debris, and did not lose control. In fact, I rode several miles to an exit before I realized it was flat. The second set I rode 15,000 miles before I wrecked the bike (not due to the tires) I currently have a set that I've ridden 16,000 miles and counting. After the performance when I got the flat, and due to their ability to last high mileage, I'll always own tires from this line of Michelins.

Commander twos did the job
Commander twos did the job. I’ve been running them for several years now and have over 14,000 miles on them and still have some left. I’m a big guy near 300 pounds and couldn’t be happier with those tires. I will buy them again or the commander three. The best all around tire on the market in my opinion for the money.

Michelin Commander 2
Commander 2 Outlast 2 dunlop's average life for me is about 14 to 15000 miles trying out the Michelin Commander 3s now see if they out last Michelin Commander 2

Excellent tires!!
I installed both Michelin Commander II tires on 2002 Suzuki Volusia, I noticed a huge difference from former Metzeler ME880 tires. No longer feel 'skittery' on wet road. I throttled up in increment to 65mph during rain and it still sticks!! I leans easy during wet road and it did not slips. I love this tires and bought 2nd pair after 1st worn out in 12,000 miles (on rear). Make sure tire psi follows motorcycle's psi requirement.

Best tire for me.
I own a 2004 Harley Heritage Softail, I have tried every tire from A to Z and for my money the Commander 2 has been the best rear tire of them all. Living in Wisconsin gives me all the weather conditions to ride in, this tire in my opinion has the longest life of all rear tires on the market with comparable handling from tar melting heat to snow. I have been getting 12,000+ mi. which for me means I only need to purchase and mount 1 a year. Compared to original rear tire that Harley had which was 7,500 and tire was thread bare at that. My bike just turned 160,000 this 11/2020 so believe me when I say it was a blessing when I first discovered the Michelin Commander 2 for my motorcycle, by the way I also run the same model tire on the front of bike and normally it will last me over 25,000mi depending on how hard I've used the front brake....too many whitetale deer to avoid...lol Rear tire 150/80/16 Front 130/90/16 Thanks Michelin for a great tire, with a reasonable price.
