Review Summary
The tires offer good handling, traction, and long-lasting wear, especially in dry conditions. Many riders reported excellent mileage, with some getting over 20,000 miles. The tires were also noted for their stability and performance in wet weather. However, some customers experienced issues like wobbling, vibration, and premature wear, particularly with the front tire. A small number of riders reported tire failures, including blowouts and tread separation. Overall, the tires appear to be a solid all-around option, but the inconsistent performance and occasional durability problems suggest they may not be the perfect choice for all riders and conditions.

Very disappointed
The most slippery set of tires I have ever owned. Would not suggest these tires on a cruiser type bike.

Great tire
I purchased my bike in 2019. Front tires were a bit old but had these tires. Was excited to see what I can get out of these tires from new. So purchased a new set. These tires made some noise in the turns but was washed out by the pipes until recently. Currently at 16k plus on my front tire. Plenty of tread left. But… I have a lot of wheel cupping on the left side. I did go a whole season never checking pressure and at beginning of the next season I was down 10psi on both so could be self inflicted. Makes for quite a howl when I turn left and at excessive speeds tends to wobble. However these tires have been amazing. Great traction great handling. When they had a few thousand miles I rode thru some really tight twisties and left a lot of other bikes in the dust. The guy on the gold wing I was tail gating looked at my tires when we stopped because he was impressed with the grip I was making. The wet traction is ok once I’m moving but where I’m a light rider on a powerful bike when I’m alone it wiggles it’s tail if I breathe near the throttle. With a passenger the take off and pulls in the rain are just like dry roads. Even on wet paint it grips with a hard pull. All in all very well done tire. I am going to upgrade to the commander 3s to see how these preform and last and will gladly write a review on those when the time comes.
Hi Christopher, thank you for your review! We appreciate your feedback. And yes, keep a consistent eye on that tire pressure to get the most out of your tires! We will be sending some swag your way. #MichelinOnMyMoto

Shake wobble and roll
I have been running these tires for the last 8 sets i have put on my bike and have always liked them, last week i put a new set on and the front tire has a side to side wobble in it. Wasn't doing it before i changed tires. So i took them both back off and had new spokes installed in my rims and both rims trued back up to within harley davidson specs for the bike. New wheel bearings in both wheels , new brake rotors and new pads installed and still the front tire has a side to side wobble i can feel and i can see looking at the tire going down the road. Won't be buying another set of them after all i've went through trying to resolve the issue.

Junk
Have maybe 7,000 miles in this set. Tire pressure Maintained correctly during their life cycle and ride two up most of the time. Rear tire is extremely choppy. Massive high spots. Front tire doing the. Plus from the start had bar wobble which I never had acne with worn Dunlops. True shame. Was excited to try. Not again… Dunlop or Avon it will be
Hi Robert, thank you for sharing your experience. Although it is clear that you've lost faith in Michelin tires, I would like to share a few factors that may have contributed to this unusual wear in case it continues with your next set of tires (any brand). Proper pressure is the single most important maintenance that must be checked weekly. All tires are prone to lose air over time and lower pressures will affect the geometry of the contact patch and ultimately how the tire wears. A two-up load only exacerbates this condition, so air pressure checks are even more important. Riding style is another factor that can contribute to tire wear--that is, how aggressively you accelerate and how and when you apply the front and brakes, especially during cornering. Next, the pavement material such as chip/seal or other aggressive material in the asphalt as well as constantly riding over grated bridges can wear out tires more quickly. Lastly, the components of your motorcycle can lead to irregular wear when bearings and suspension parts are worn or if you add aftermarket gear that changes the aerodynamics of your motorcycle. To sum it up, we design our tires to deliver a high level of performance (wet grip, handling and longevity to name a few) and are proud to know the vast majority of consumers realize this on their particular motorcycle, according to our fitment guide recommendations. I don't doubt you've had a terrible experience with your last set of MICHELIN motorcycle tires--assuming it was a proper fitment, but can only point out the many factors that can contribute to this after the tire is mounted. Thank you again for your comments. Safe riding.

Good gone bad
This is my 4th set of commander 2's. Went thru 2 sets on my last bike and I am now on my 2nd set (4th total) on my current bike. I keep buying these because of the quality. They have been in the past an all around great tire that lasts long and gives you the stability that you want. But also allow you to maneuver the bike the way you need to. However, I haven't even had this current set for a full riding season yet and the center of the tire is flat all the way around along with a worn out spot all the way down to the bands. Very unsafe, should have been recalled, if it was then I should have been notified, I didn't get anything until I started calling around to have it replaced and guy at a shop told me about the issues that have been going on with these tires.
Hi Nick, We’re sorry to hear that your experience on your fifth set of MICHELIN Commander II tires did not match your previous experience. Nothing has changed with the composition or construction of this tire since we first launched the tire, so we must defer to other factors that affect tire wear, such as air pressure management, riding habits and the components and aftermarket equipment on your motorcycle. Assuming you maintain the air pressure as you’ve done in the past, we can move on to riding habits. Can you recall any changes to where you typically ride (some areas of the country have very abrasive roads) or if you are more aggressive with acceleration or braking? Lastly, it is clear that some time has passed to have gone through four sets of tires—perhaps 2-4 years. In that time, some of your components on your bike may have become worn, such as the head bearing or suspension components, which can greatly reduce the treadlife and affect the wear pattern of your tires—no matter which brand of tire you ride. Also, if you installed any aftermarket equipment such as a windshield or saddle bags that affect the aerodynamics of your bike, this may also contribute to irregular wear without a rider realizing it. Again, because nothing has changed with our tire, we recommend that you visit your local shop to have your vehicle inspected. We appreciate your brand loyalty and sincerely hope this helps you resolve the issue.

Commander 2 shake wobble and roll
These tires came on my bike. They’ve been back to the dealer who mounted them twice to be balanced with the same results. Tons of weight on the front wheel and cannot tame the tire shake. It visibly wobbles at speed and the rear is visibly out of round if lifted off the ground and run. Rims are straight and true. These were supposed to be the best tires but they make riding miserable. Hate them but can’t afford to replace new tires.

Falling apart
6-7k miles and looks like it has 100k in one spot. Very dangerous! 2010 road glide
Hi Stacy. Thank you for your review of the MICHELIN Commander II tire. Uneven wear can have several causes. Please make sure the size of your tire is suitable and the one recommended by the manufacturer, check the inflation pressure often, check the mechanical condition of suspension, steering and wheel bearing elements, do not exceed the recommended load, correct all mechanical anomalies on the vehicle. Please bring your bike in at your local dealership for inspection when in doubt.

So the set in the garage since September, had them mounted and balanced, and ended up with a defective tire and wheel hobble
