Review Summary

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 tires provide excellent grip and traction in both dry and wet conditions, delivering a confident and secure driving experience. They offer a smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride with impressive handling and cornering capabilities, making them well-suited for sporty and high-performance vehicles. While most reviewers noted good durability and long tread life, a few mentioned faster-than-expected wear on the rear tires.

Terrific Attributes!

Much better handling than previous tires, and far more grip. No more wheel hop, and the traction is much improved. The ride is terrific as well.

DOES NOT HOLD PROPER TIRE PRESSURE

I worked for Michelin for 36 years. All of the tires have been great until 3 yrs ago. I got a set of 275/40 R 17 Pilot Sports All Season 4. After 2 yrs the sidewalls developed wavy pattern on sidewalls. I went to my dealer and he checked them. They only had 10000 miles on them. Michelin gave me $400 and I got a new set. The new set will NOT HOLD PROPER TIRE PRESSURE. Once a week or so I have to add 2 to 4 PSI's to every tire. All of the tires for previous 36 years held tire pressure VERY GOOD.(ONE OF MICHELIN'S SECRETS) I only had to adjust tire pressure when it turned hot or cold weather. They perform very good WELL except for pressure problem. I AM VERY U[HAPPY WITH THIS SET OF TIRES.

Michael, thank you for sharing your experience and for your many years of loyalty to Michelin. We understand how frustrating it can be to need frequent pressure adjustments. We recommend having your authorized tire dealer perform a full inspection to help identify the cause. If you’d like to discuss this further, our Consumer Care team would be glad to help at 866‑866‑6605 (Mon–Fri 8am–7pm EST, Sat 9am–1pm EST).

Good all-around tire

These are excellent "all-around" tires that provide reasonable traction in rain/snow/ice, allowing me to go through up to 6 inches of snow this winter without difficulty. This is surprising, given that my Cadillac CTS4 Performance Coupe is quite low, and has staggered tire sizes. The rear "steamrollers" should NOT do well in the snow, but yours do. On dry pavement, the ride is as smooth as can be expected in a low-profile tire, and handling is quite good. It is not as good as a dedicated, high-performance summer tire but, again, it is a great compromise.

Fantastic all-around tire

Excellent tire. The compound is sticky and aggressive while still offering good traction in cold weather. The tires appear to be well made with a very still XL-rated sidewall. Handling is extremely precise and predictable with perfectly controlled behavior when approaching the limits of cornering grip. The tires are very comfortable and pretty quiet for a performance A/S tire. While I cannot comment on tread life or highway stability just yet, no doubt those will meet expectations as well.

Not durable

I’m extremely disappointed with the durability of my Michelin tires. I purchased them just about a month ago, expecting the quality and reliability the brand is known for. Unfortunately, after a very normal driving experience, one of my tires already has noticeable sidewall damage. This was not due to reckless driving, but from a common road condition that any tire should reasonably withstand. For a premium-priced tire, I expected much better durability and resilience. It’s frustrating to invest in a trusted brand only to experience damage so quickly after purchase. Tires are supposed to provide safety and peace of mind, and right now, I’m feeling the opposite. I am hoping Michelin will stand behind their product and consider a replacement or some form of support, as this experience does not reflect the quality I believed I was paying for.
