Rebate
I purchased two sets of four tires and expected to receive the Spring Rebate as advertised on the Michelin website. This promotion was the deciding factor in choosing Michelin over Yokohama tires. After submitting my rebate, it was declined. I was informed that the dealer was not a participating location, even though the dealer was listed on the Michelin website at the time of purchase. There was no indication that Discount Tire was excluded from the promotion. This experience is disappointing and has made me reconsider future Michelin tire purchases.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Rebate eligibility is based on specific program terms, including participating dealers. Our Consumer Care team would be happy to review and provide clarification. Please contact us at 866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST) for further assistance.

Better Control and Quieter
With these tires, there is less road noise, the ride is smoother, and it seems that the steering is more precise.

Defend-her 2 ...."Defender 2 AS"
These tires are durable, grip the road really well, offer stability, have amazing traction in rainy weather conditions, and they haven't shown any wear for me just yet. Best purchase on tires for my girl "Sasha Indigo" 80th Anniversary Jeep Cherokee. I'll take good care of her because she takes great care of me.

Not for hybrid due to loss of 4 mpg.
Good tire only issue is we are losing 3-5 mpg on avg drop from 50mpg to 46 mpg.which will cost is about $530 for life of tire. We have a hybrid and the tire os rated to be EV compatible.
Martin, we understand how important fuel efficiency is for hybrid vehicles. While the Defender 2 is designed to balance longevity, traction and efficiency, and is compatible with EV and hybrid applications, actual MPG can vary based on vehicle tuning, tire size, inflation and driving conditions. We recommend checking inflation levels and having your dealer review the installation to ensure optimal performance. Bought at BJs wholesale. When after they were mounted and I drive home I realized thru the dot code the tires were manufactured almost 3years earlier. While I was assured by the manufacturer they will be fine I am still skeptical..,,, other than that they seem fine with minimal nose at speed.

Loud Ride Noise and Unexpected Issues
I purchased four Michelin Defender 2 all-season tires (215/50R17) from Costco for my Honda Civic. Right after installation, I noticed a loud road noise and vibration, like driving over train tracks. I was told it was normal, but even after about six months of driving, the noise has not improved. The ride feels harsher than expected for a small car like a Civic. I also keep needing to add air to the tires regularly, even though two different tire shops confirmed there is no leak. The tires also looked a bit dull and older in appearance when first installed, which made me question the stock condition. And I noticed later that they installed four tires with different manufacture dated which they did not mentioned. Overall, based on my experience, I’m disappointed with the comfort and noise level. I would not recommend these tires for drivers who want a quiet and smooth ride. I would give them 1 star.
We’re sorry to hear about the noise, vibration, and comfort concerns you’ve described. Road noise, vibration, and air‑pressure concerns can sometimes be influenced by factors such as installation, balancing, tire pressure settings, or vehicle‑specific conditions. We recommend visiting the installing dealer or another authorized Michelin dealer for a thorough inspection to review these items. If additional assistance is needed, our Consumer Care team would be glad to help review your concerns and discuss next steps.
