Why should you consider this tire?

Faster and more consistent lap times.[1]

The new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect (240) premium sport tire is engineered to deliver fast and consistent lap times. The tread features Bi-Compound Technology 2.0, while a new High Molecular Chain elastomer on the outside shoulder delivers exceptional grip on tight bends. On the inner tread, a new rigid elastomer optimizes steering control.

Excellent steering control and improved handling.

Dynamic Response Technology featuring a hybrid aramid-and-nylon belt ensures your steering instructions hit the track when it counts. This translates into a sharp steering response, while the new wavy summit architecture increases tread pattern stiffness for improved intuitive handling, thanks to the optimized footprint and maximized steering precision.

Legal for 'street tire' racing categories.

Increased UTQG treadwear rating of 240 and 7.2/32nds tread depth meet the 'street category' definition of many popular racing associations.

Warranties

Standard Limited Warranty

All Michelin tires have a Standard Manufacturer's Limited Warranty, which covers defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or for 6 years from date of purchase, whichever occurs first.

*Mileage Warranty Exceptions

Split fitments – If your vehicle has tires of different sizes on the front versus the rear axles, your tires cannot be rotated as recommended. Therefore, the mileage warranty on each rear tire will cover half the number of miles as the standard mileage warranty for that particular tire line. ZP (Zero Pressure) tires – The maximum mileage warranty for ZP tires is 30,000 miles.

>> The sizes shown are average design values for tires measured on specified measuring rim widths. Some tires may vary from this value by +/-3% of the section height (affecting overall diameter), and +/-4% of the section width.
>> Section width varies approximately 0.2" (5mm) for every 0.5" change in rim width.
>> Tread patterns are often tuned to accomodate different tire widths. Tires for a particular dimension of a given tireline may vary in appearance from the tire shown in the photograph.

WARNING: Serious or fatal injury may result from tire failure due to underinflation or overloading. To ensure correct air pressure and vehicle load, refer to vehicle owner's manual or tire information placard on the vehicle. Serious injury or death may result from explosion of tire/rim assembly due to improper mounting. Only tire professionals should mount tires and they should never inflate beyond 40 psi to seat the beads. Before mixing types of tires in any configuration on any vehicle, be sure to check the vehicle owner's manual for its recommendations.

DANGER: Never mount a 16" diameter tire on a 16.5" rim.
DANGER: Never mount a 17" diameter tire on a 17.5" rim.

Inflation pressure increase must not exceed the maximum pressure branded on the tire sidewall. When a customer requests a replacement tire with a lower speed rating than the original equipment tire, you must clearly communicate to him or her that the handling of the vehicle may be different, and that its maximum speed capability is limited to that of the lowest speed-rated tire on the vehicle. Exceeding the lawful speed limit is neither recommended nor endorsed.

For high-speed driving, additional inflation pressure and possibly reduced tire loading and/or upsizing is required. In the absence of specific recommendations by the vehicle manufacturer, use the following guidelines based on those in the European Tyre and Rim Technical Organization Standards Manual.

For speeds over 160km/h (100 mph), load and inflation must be adjusted according to the table below.

(Y)-Speed Rated Sizes:   118   124   130   136   143   149   155   161   168   174   180   186
Inflation Increase (psi)   0   0   0   0   1.5   3   4.5   6   7.5   7.5   7.5   7.5
Load Capacity (% of max)   100   100   100   100   100   100   100   100   100   95   90   85

For speeds above 186 mph (300 kph), consult your vehicle manufacturer and tire dealer. For speeds above 186 mph (300 kph), consult your vehicle manufacturer and tire dealer.

ROAD USE

• Adhere to the inflation pressures recommended by the car manufacturer

TRACK USE

HOW TO MANAGE THE PRESSURE OF YOUR TIRES DURING THE TRACK

• Start of track day or after a long break: Always begin with inflation pressures recommended for road use by the car manufacturer

• Prepare your tire: Gradually bring the tires up to temperature:

    - 2 laps with rhythm

    - 3 laps faster

• Adjust pressure of hot tire:

   - Sunny Weather: Come back to inflation pressures recommended by the car manufacturer

   - Rainy Weather: no change of pressure (could be upper than car manufacturer recommendation)

•  After some laps: Slight adjustments possible depending on wear profile and car balance

BEFORE LEAVING TRACK, TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD AGAIN

•  Always check the wear aspect of your tires and remaining tread depths, at least 1.6mm, and ensure there is no damage

•  Once tires have cooled, re-set to car manufacturer pressure recommendations

•  Do not forget to switch on any electronic safety and assistance systems on your car, as well as resetting the tire pressure monitoring system

•  If special tuning has been done for track day (for example changing camber value), it is very important to put back them with the road setting

CAUTION!

• If not used for a prolonged period of time, remove the MICHELIN PILOT SPORT CUP 2 connect tires (mounted on their wheels) and reduce their pressure to half their normal value to store

• Store tires in a clean, dry area, away from direct sunlight and ozone sources (electrical devices and materials/chemicals) and above 0°C (32°F) in accordance with the information provided by Michelin in technical documentation or websites

• Do not use, store, handle or ship MICHELIN PILOT SPORT CUP 2 connect tires at ambient temperatures below -10°C (14°F)

• Under these conditions the tire components can degrade, resulting in reduced performance, and at low temperatures can lead to cracks or damages to the tire compound and hence reduce potential in use

• Never use a tire with cracks, breaks or damage to the sidewall or tread. In case of doubt please consult your local Michelin technical department

• When used for long periods in an intensive manner on circuits, please be aware that damage can occur to the tire and its carcass from regularly running over the curbs at the edges of the circuit

• It is advisable to visually check the tires after each run, prior to going back onto the circuit

• In case of prolonged running over the curbs (or also running heavily off the track) it is advisable to verify the internal condition of the tire and it’s construction by demounting it from the wheel and having it professionally inspected for any damage, both on the interior and the exterior of the tire

Geometrical settings e.g., Camber/Toe

• On the track, geometry settings (camber primarily) can be modified to improve cornering speeds and grip through maximizing tires' footprint and also to prevent excessive wear/fatigue to the outer shoulder.

• Camber: for optimal results on a circuit, the negative camber settings should be between -1.5° &  -3° dependent upon the circuit layout and the type of vehicle. NEVER exceed -4° of negative camber

• Camber values for road use must be based upon the recommended « road » settings to ensure the correct handling and behavior for both the vehicle and the tires

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

• MICHELIN PILOT SPORT CUP 2 connect is a track tire (semi-slick tire) optimized for DRY track use.

On wet tracks or roads semi-slick tires, and especially in a worn state, can be highly impacted by aquaplaning phenomena. Drive carefully and with reduced speeds on wet roads. Make sure as well that the vehicle assistance systems are switched on.

However, these tires meet the legal requirements for use on the public highway and open roads of the countries where it is distributed.

• For track and road handling reasons, the fitting of a set of four tires is strongly advised

• Compatible with Michelin Track Connect.
