Longevity subpar - ride well

Installed November 21, 2019 and now (April 27, 2020) have 4590 miles on the tire. Past tread wear indicators and grooves are barely visible. Previous tires (other brands) have lasted past 6k. No complaints about handling in any condition. I live in central Illinois and have no curves to push hard, plus in the cold I tend to take it a little easier. My commute consists of oil chip, gravel/mud on a deteriorated oil chip, some asphalt and concrete interstate and highways. I will be replacing these as soon as the dealer reopens this week and can get an appointment. In the beginning I would have made a repeat purchase of these tires, but after reviewing the milage I will need to look at something else.

10,000 mile review

I put a set of the Michelin Anakee Adventures on my Triumph Tiger Explorer (1200) six months ago and have now put 10,000 miles on them. I have been impressed from day one and even now the tires are still holding up well. Living in the desert southwest, I learned on decomposed granite roads that the front tire will quickly lose grip, but on fire roads and dirt roads, they work well. I do not ride this bike on Single-track; I have a dual-sport for that activity. On the twisty asphalt mountain roads, they feel solid and inspire confidence. The dual-compound rear tire still has plenty a tread with minimal flattening out. I took a seven-state western tour and had no issues in all types of weather. Overall I could not be happier with the tires; yes, they hum on asphalt and concrete, but I wear ear protection and a full-face helmet to avoid wind noise; therefore, the hum is not noticeable. The front tire is beginning to show signs of edge fraying but still no flattening of the radius. The tread depth after 10K is 5/32 on the rear and 4/32 on the front. I consider this to be amazing considering the weight/power of the bike and the long haul gear I take with me. The set will probably make it another 3-5k and then I will buy the same tires again. My riding style is smooth fast with no wheel stands.

These tires are fantastic!

I own a Versys X300 and rode 2500 miles on the factory tires. I ride streets to get out to the country, and then I mostly ride lots of gravel and dirt roads, and some trails. I purchased the Anakee 2 months ago and have now put 600 miles on them. The difference in grip in all conditions is amazing. I thought I would have to break in the tires, but they worked great from the very start. I think they are more like 70 /30 tires. I’ve ridden them in rain too and they great very well. I have ridden some very steep trails in the Loess Hill in Iowa, and these tires grip very well. I have only written a few product reviews in my life, but these tires were worth writing about. I cannot vouch for how they will last, but they are well made.

Long lasting, smooth, high quality tire!

I bought a pair of these to replace the front tires on my 94 corvette. The price was reasonable and the Uniroyal/Michelin brand is one I've trusted over the years. The previous tires wore quickly due to a bad alignment. A quality alignment job and 5 years later, my rear tires are worn out so I am ready to buy a matching pair of rear tires. I'm sticking with these Uniroyals because of how well the fronts held up - 30K miles and they barely show any signs of wear!

First aggressive rides on new Anakee Adventures

At first glance when they arrived I thought that tread depth was low. With my Anakee 3's and aggressive back road paved on my BMW GS 1200 I could get safely 4-5000 miles. After 3k on the Adventurers little wear appears, especially on the front. Neutral turn in, excellent grip and minimal noise. There is a whine tone when initiating turns that totally goes away when returned to center but is very minimal compared to the Wilds I've used. Will order another set in the spring!!
