Can the Commander III be mixed with other tires?

To ensure the best level of performance and safety, our ranges are developed based on a uniform fitting to the front and rear. It is therefore recommended that different ranges are not mixed on the same motorcycle. If different generations are mixed, it is advisable to fit the MICHELIN Commander III to the front wheel.

Vibration when going straight

Paw Paw - May 1, 2021

My first and last set of Michelins, I wore out the factory Dunlops and put on the Commander 3s. Instantly noticed a vibration in the bars. It goes away at the slightest lean. Center compound might be to hard?? Im not sure if it breaks in or if I will have to replace.

Hi Petot Thank you for your review of 04-16-2021. We are sorry you are experiencing issues with your MICHELIN Commander III tires. Vibration can have several causes, such as incorrect mounting, incorrect balancing, worn motorcycle components, etc. Please bring your bike in to a local dealer for inspection or contact Michelin Consumer Care at 800-346-4098.

Commander 3 tire is a do not buy

Badtires - April 28, 2021

Thought I’d try the new Commander 3 tire. I had been happy with the Commander 2. The front commander 3 vibrates between 60-66 mph. Took back to dealer and they put another new C 3 on front. To get to balance a lot of tire weights installed on both sides of the wheel in one area. Now it has a harmonic distortion 56-61 mph. JP cycle will only send me another tire😡. Going back to Avon cobra tires, great results and had been very happy with the Avon’s. My mistake for trying with the Mitchlens. I should have read more reviews.

Vibration

Keith - April 26, 2021

Installed on ‘14 Electraglide, replaced factory H-D Dunlops. Why am I now getting a vibration from 25-40MPH? After 40 they smooth out nicely. I have 500 dry-weather miles on them and hope they “break in’ or something so the vibration stops. Tire date October 2020, made in Thailand. Can’t speak about wet-weather grip or longevity so rated them 3 stars for now.
