Benefits of Michelin

"At 75MPH, a construction ladder fell off a truck, hitting my front and right rear tires and bent both front and rear rim/wheels. My wife and I could have both been hurt or worse, so thanks for a fine tire!"
— R.D. Thompson

Comments about X Radial DT:
I have purchased Michelin x-radials for my full size cars, 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis and a 1999 Ford Explorer. I have discovered that using 32 lbs max per tire gives me the best ride, handling, and gas mileage. For years I have kept this brand and model of tire at the max pressure allowed at 35 lbs hot, and finally changed to 32 lbs and realized a tremendous improvement in the ride, handling, while gas mileage has not changed since lowering the pressure from 35 to 32 hot. I have owned other brands in the past such as Goodyear, BFGoodrich, Pirelli, but have settled on knowing that hands down Michelin x-radials cover all the basis of mileage durability, handling, and comfort the best.

Comments about X Radial DT:
treadlife is supposed to be 80,000 but don't believe it. This is the second set and I can't get 20,000.
Too much money for a 20,000 mile tire.

Comments about X Radial DT:
For the first time in many years I decided to spend the big bucks and buy the "best": Four Michelin tires for my LaSabre Buick. My ride was pleasing until they were rotated and balanced the first 7000 miles. After this I felt a bump/vibration especially from 60 to 70 mph. The dealer rebalanced two more times to no avail. He said all 4 balanced to 0. No explaination for the problem. I will not spend the "big bucks" next time I need tires.
