AWESOME Tires

                    Comments about LTX M/S2:

I purchased my first set of Michelin tires (LTX/MSs) back in 1994 for my 1990 Toyota SR5 4x4. I was so impressed with them that I purchased MSs for the 2002 Tacoma Prerunner SR5 I bought in 2001. I got over 75,000 miles on the tires for each vehicle under mostly highway driving conditions. I now have a 2010 Tacoma SR5 Prerunner 2WD and recently replaced the OEM tires with MS2s after 55,000 miles of use. I can't complain about the OEM Bridgestones, as they held their own and provided good service life. I am a stickler on vehicle maintenance and tire rotations so the OEM tires lasted as advertised. Well, I've driven on the MS2s for a few days and I am very impressed with them. The tires are truly amazing; they are extremely quiet and provide a very smooth ride. I am a die-hard Toyota truck fan and can tell that these light trucks are not known for providing the smoothest ride or getting very good gas mileage But the MS2s has presented a new leaf-on-life for this truck as far as smoothness is concerned. I've even noticed a slight increase in gas mileage, even though I'm not concerned about gas mileage. I don't buy Toyota trucks for gas mileage—I buy them because they are workhorses, they are reliable and the last forever if properly maintained. Saying all of this, I have one impression about these tires that many will find a bit farfetched. The tires are so quiet and smooth on 'my' Toyota truck that I have found myself exceeding posted speed limits on the highway many times. I often use the cruise control on the highway to make sure I'm maintaining a safe and legal speed. Again, these tires are sooooo quiet and smooth—they are truly awesome. I expect that I will get the same reliability and tread wear as I did with the MSs in the past. I also know that no one brand of tire satisfies everyone; I just so happen to appreciate Michelin brand tires. I consider the negative information about MS2s a clearly subjective and a personal matter. I say buy what you like and like what you buy. I'm a VERY happy camper—bottom line. I personally think that Michelin MS2s are awesome tires and can't be beat by any on the market.

I purchased a new 2012 Silverado which had another brand tire. The original tires road extremely rough so within two weeks I purchased what I always use, Michelin Tires.

These new Michelin tires are great. The ride, traction and overall performance in the best. They may cost a little more but you get what you pay for.

                          • You need to know your vehicle's options to find out the original size of the tires for your vehicle because automobile manufacturers often use different wheel and tire sizes for different variations of a specific vehicle.

If you do not know your vehicle's options, check one of these places:

1. The original sales invoice or window sticker when you bought the vehicle.

2. Your vehicle's Owner's Manual, which will sometimes identify your vehicle's options.

3. Look on the vehicle itself. Some vehicles have a decal or lettering that indicates the options located on the side or rear of the vehicle.
                          • Find the exact tire quickly using your tire size. Check your owner's manual or tire sidewall to find the required specifications.

Knowing your tire size can help save time at the tire retailer. It also enables you to make an informed tire purchase.

You can find your vehicle's original equipment tire size in one of the following places:
1. • You can determine your tire type by looking at the tire's designation on the sidewall of your tire. The following describes the differences between the tire type designations:

P-Metric: A uniform designation of tire sizes in metric measurements. A typical P-Metric tire is P205/70R14 93S.

European Metric: This system was a conversion of the numeric system from inches to millimeters. The aspect ratio appears in the size designation in most cases where it is other than 82. A typical European Metric tire is 185/70R14 88S

Light Truck-Metric: This system is used for light truck tires, and it mirrors the P-Metric system used for passenger tires. A typical LT-Metric tire is LT245/75R16 120R.

Light Truck High Flotation: This type is for light truck tires with lower sidewalls and wider treads that yield better traction on surfaces such as sand and soft soil found in watery, off-road situations. A typical tire is 31X10.50R15 LT LRC
