Comments about Primacy MXM4:

Car came with Michelin, different style, replaced at 54k miles, still had some tread left. Checked all kinds of tires cheaper to expensive. Almost went cheaper, decided to go with these Primacy tires. Man I am glad I did. Whisper quiet ride, not a hint of vibration, shudder, good cornering, traction in the wet. Car is not driven in the snow, can't comment on that. These things roll nice down the road, no issues here whatsoever. Only a couple thousand on them right now, I am impressed so far.

You don't know how uncomfortable or noisy your tires are until you've put Primacy MXM4's on your car. They put my Continentals to shame. The Michelin Man just made a new friend. Can't comment on all the other areas of tire performance yet.

                          Comments about Primacy MXM4:

I own a 2009 Chevy HHR LT2 that came with Firestone tires. After about 43,000 miles it was time to replace the tires and beinging an exclusive Michelin customer for the past 25 years it was a no brainer that I wanted to replace the Firestones with Michelins.

After much research I decided on the MXM4 due to the Michelin advertisements about handling, ride and quiteness.

I bought my tires at a reputible retailer, and after having them mounted noticed on the drive home that I had a terrible humming noise...sounded like I was riding in a single engine plane! I also noticed a vibration that I could feel in the throttle.

I put up with this noise for a few weeks thinking it would get better when the tires got a few hundred miles on them but it didnt get any better. I took the car back to where they were purchased, and after taking a tire technicial for a drive the store agreed to exchange the tires for exact replacements thinking that maybe one of the tires had a defect.

After replacing all 4 tires the noise is still there...its so noisy thats it makes any trip miserable!

After two sets Im convinced that the design of the 215/50/17 is a bad design and now I'm stuck with an extremely expensive set of tires that I'm unhappy with.

I'm disappointed that Michelin advertises this tire as a quite ride, and I'll be hard pressed to buy Michelins in the future.

                          • You need to know your vehicle's options to find out the original size of the tires for your vehicle because automobile manufacturers often use different wheel and tire sizes for different variations of a specific vehicle.

If you do not know your vehicle's options, check one of these places:

1. The original sales invoice or window sticker when you bought the vehicle.

2. Your vehicle's Owner's Manual, which will sometimes identify your vehicle's options.

3. Look on the vehicle itself. Some vehicles have a decal or lettering that indicates the options located on the side or rear of the vehicle.
                          • Find the exact tire quickly using your tire size. Check your owner's manual or tire sidewall to find the required specifications.

Knowing your tire size can help save time at the tire retailer. It also enables you to make an informed tire purchase.

You can find your vehicle's original equipment tire size in one of the following places:
1. • You can determine your tire type by looking at the tire's designation on the sidewall of your tire. The following describes the differences between the tire type designations:

P-Metric: A uniform designation of tire sizes in metric measurements. A typical P-Metric tire is P205/70R14 93S.

European Metric: This system was a conversion of the numeric system from inches to millimeters. The aspect ratio appears in the size designation in most cases where it is other than 82. A typical European Metric tire is 185/70R14 88S

Light Truck-Metric: This system is used for light truck tires, and it mirrors the P-Metric system used for passenger tires. A typical LT-Metric tire is LT245/75R16 120R.

Light Truck High Flotation: This type is for light truck tires with lower sidewalls and wider treads that yield better traction on surfaces such as sand and soft soil found in watery, off-road situations. A typical tire is 31X10.50R15 LT LRC
