Tire Highlights

Variable thickness sipes provide additional biting edges in low–grip conditions to improve wet and snow traction, but lock together in dry conditions to provide crisp handling and longer treadwear.

Unique biting edges in the grooves grip snow for better acceleration and braking in snowy conditions.

Helio compound with sunflower oil helps to increase traction at low temperatures, while extreme silica technology provides exceptional wet grip.

Asymetric tread pattern and Variable Contact Patch 2.0 design result in strong dry performance combined with long tread life.

Michelin Sums Up New Pilot Sport AS/3 by Spider Chart

Regardless of the (relative) charms of illustrating a tire's capabilities via infographic, there's no substitute for firsthand experience-- and indeed, our recent test at NOLA Motorsports Park revealed favorable seat of the pants impressions against its competitors, with exceptional performance on wet autocross courses.

Comments about Pilot Sport A/S 3:

Second set of these I bought, I replaced the stock Tires on my 2012 Charger with them and the stock set on our 2010 370z roadster. :
Comment on the charger, the only thing I didn't like was the appearance in a 20" low profile I could see a lot of the tread pattern and there appeared to be a lot of space in the wheel well. However they rode great.
Comment on the 370z, opposite of the charger, in a 19" staggered size they fill the wheel well. Stock Tires only lasted 10k. We will see how these hold up, should be 22k since I can't rotate them.

Comments about Pilot Sport A/S 3:

I had these tires installed on the rear of my 99 BMW 528i. I commute 150mi a day so the 45K mile warranty implied these tires should have lasted at least a year. I do not drive aggressively nor am I lax in maintaining the car. The car was aligned when the tires were installed. The tires had great wet traction and the one snow storm we've had impressed me. There was no end to the grip on the icy road. Zero road noise, a solid comfortable ride, and the tires just plain looked great. 17K miles later I am not impressed. Both rear tires just hit the wear indicators and are wearing evenly across the tread which tells me there is nothing off about the car. I will be having these units warranteed this week. Hopefully it was just a defective lot. I haven't used Michelin tires in 15 years because I had a set wear out quickly on a Jeep. The only reason I tried them again was because that was what was in stock in the size I needed at my local dealer at the time and I was in dire need of tires. I have a competitor's brand of tire on the front that are pushing 40K miles with no noticable wear. If the next set wears out just as quickly I will never buy another Michelin tire again no matter what situation.

Comments about Pilot Sport A/S 3:

My first review was deleted, maybe because I spoke the truth? So anyway, all these positive reviews are being made by people who evidently don't know what ULTRA-HIGH PERFORMANCE tires are for, nor what they should be. UHP tires on a CRX? A Mini?? Passat??? No, those don't need or even get a benefit from UHP tires. Regardless all that, these tires definitely are NOT "Ultra High Performance" tires. They do not stick, ESPECIALLY when the temperature is on the cool side. There is nearly ZERO grip at 45F or below. They are ok when it's warm, but nothing spectacular. Power-slides at 110 MPH? Fun, but NO TRACTION. Admittedly, my XKR has quite a bit more power than most cars, but these tires can't harness even a portion of it. Cornering at low speed is OK, but since my size tire (285-30-20) has about an inch of sidewall, ANY tire could do what these do. Put any SPEED into a corner and it's oversteer AND understeer AT THE SAME TIME. This makes it a bit more stable in corners, but NOT capable of adding acceleration. Slip = slow.
I will DEFINITELY never get these tires again, unless I get them free for an Accord or some other inane commuter car.
These are NOT "Ultra High Performance" tires, nor even "HIGH" performance. Generic about-town tires for the common man, or woman. I rated "Tread Life" fairly high, but Tread Life is inversely proportional to grip, so long tread life equals not sticky. My next tires will again have a "P" at the beginning of the name and an "I" at the end.
