Tire Highlights

A combination of 4 key features improves MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi3™ overall winter performance even in some of the harshest winter conditions.

Increased number of tread blocks provides 15% more biting edge and improves performance on ice and in snow.

Micropumps absorb water from the surface and evacuate it by centrifugal force for improved tread contact with the road surface.

Cross Z Sipes™. Sipes are tridimensional to improve rigidity , enable stable handling and improve traction on ice and in snow.

The Flex-Ice™ compound. This full-silica compound maintains flexibility at lower temperatures, improving performance on ice and in snow. It also maintains firmness at moderate temperatures, improving wear and grip.

              Comments about X-Ice Xi3:

Going into this winter, my current set of Primacys with 42,000 miles, no longer felt safe on snow. I installed the x-ice3, and could not be happier when driving in winter conditions. I have noticed a marginal difference in acceleration, on snow, compared to the all-seasons, when new. The most profound difference, with x-ice, is the braking performance on snow and ice.

My front wheel drive Camry, feels like it now has all-wheel-drive on snow. Very low noise, on dry pavement. Fuel mileage is unchanged, from the Primacy. Very happy with this tire, and will never drive in winter without them.

                    Comments about X-Ice Xi3:

These tires are ok in a couple inches of dry snow but as soon as the roads are treated and the snow gets wet and slushy, these tire lose grip when trying to accelerate, my car slips when cornering and my antilock brakes engage and I still skid when stopping. I'm very disappointed that these tires aren't much better than my all season tires.

No Better Than All Season Tires

                          Comments about X-Ice Xi3:

I purchased these Michelin tires to replace another brand that had worn out and did so because they were rated highly. After driving on them in several recent Northeast winter storms, I can't understand how they received so many good reviews. The rear of my car slides around during cornering, my antilock brakes have engaged when stopping and there is a lot of wheel spin when trying to get through anything more than a couple inches of snow. I've been driving in winter conditions for 40 years and these tires do not provide a secure feeling when driving in snow, ice and slush. I don't feel safe with these tires and am very disappointed. I plan on taking advantage of the 30 day satisfaction warranty and purchase a different brand of snow tires.
