Comments about Primacy MXV4:

Greatest comfort tire on the road as far as smoothness, low road noise, staying balanced, and consistent tread wear versus any other manufactured tire on the road. I've had 5 sets of these tires on various sized vehicles ('03 Avalon X3, '11 Odyssey X2) along with the X-Radial on a '02 Trooper (same qualities experienced as Primacy MXV4 with exception of cracking on side walls after several years of use) and Michelin has provided the best ride of any manufacturer.

HOWEVER, the sacrifice for the fantastic ride is the reduced tread life on the Primacy MXV4. Of course, owning a heavier vehicle is going to lead to premature tire wear as it's just the laws of gravity & physics: More pressure being exerted to the road with heavier vehicles leads to shorter tire life. All you have to do is read the posts on popular online tire stores and almost every post with heavy vehicles say this very thing with all manufacturers: Tread never lasted the manufacturer's warranty claim.

Unfortunately, this tire is no different than the rest of the manufacturers out there: The heavier a vehicle is with the MXV4 the shorter the tread life. My '11 Odyssey lasted 35K on the first set (dangerously bald when replaced) and only 25K on the 2nd set. (40% hwy driving & 60% city driving) My '03 Avalon did a little better at 44K miles before being replaced, but this is a lighter weight vehicle with 75% interstate & 25% city/hwy driving.

Only mark against the Primacy MXV4 is the traction in snow & rain is NOT very good at all. Avoid these conditions if possible (at least heavy rain) as they do not perform well in these conditions.

Overall, best comfort tire on the road. I hear that Michelin makes their sidewalls a little thicker than most manufacturers which I believe is a major reason why I can keep the Primacy MXV4 balanced so well on my '03 Avalon. (Early 2000's Avalon is ultra-sensitive to the tire balance and a pain to keep balanced properly) I've also heard that Michelin is one of the last tire manufacturers to use real natural rubber in their tire compounds as a lot of the tire manufacturers have gone to synthetic rubber. (I believe someone told me that Michelin owns natural rubber tree farms in SE Asia) That is why some of the Michelin tires crack over time but I can say my X-Radial still rode smoothly on my '02 Trooper even when there was cracking on the side walls.

I will buy Michelin again for my '11 Odyssey & '03 Avalon only if a new model tire comes out with greater wear as I don't wish to pay the higher price for lower tread wear tires.

Horrible tires for 2013 Honda Pilot

    Comments about Primacy MXV4:

I have had nothing but issues with these tires for my 2013 Honda Pilot. Even the tire guy said he's never seen the Primacy on all the other Honda Pilots that come into the store. He said it should be the Latitude. Had to replace all four at less than 25,000 miles and have had nightmare issues with the tires. This type of tire should not be on the Pilot SUV. I would have purchased the Latitude had I know this earlier. I've had constant repairs, tire pressure issues, pulling to the left, then they cross rotate it and then it was pulling to the right. Would not recommend these at all for this vehicle.

    Comments about Primacy MXV4:

This tire came with my 2012 Toyota Sienna XLE. I have 26453 miles on it. The tires were rotated every 6 months (the car came with two year full service and tire rotation at no cost). There is no more tread left on these tires and I am getting ready to replace it. I am surprised by several reviews from people driving much longer with these tires.
