A combination of 4 key features improves MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi3™ overall winter performance even in some of the harshest winter conditions.
Increased number of tread blocks provides 15% more biting edge and improves performance on ice and in snow.
Micropumps absorb water from the surface and evacuate it by centrifugal force for improved tread contact with the road surface.
Cross Z Sipes™. Sipes are tridimensional to improve rigidity , enable stable handling and improve traction on ice and in snow.
The Flex-Ice™ compound. This full-silica compound maintains flexibility at lower temperatures, improving performance on ice and in snow. It also maintains firmness at moderate temperatures, improving wear and grip. |

Comments about X-Ice Xi3:
Great tires, the road noise is minimul, and the grip on ice and snow is outstanding. i live in the snow belt of Lake Erie where a typical winter has over 100" of snow. These are the first winter tires I have purchased in several years and I would highly recomend them to any friends or relatives. well worth the investment for the piece of mind given while driving in the bad weather

Comments about X-Ice Xi3:
Living in Wyoming, I drive 100's of miles on snowpack
at least a dozen times per year--have used Blizzaks in
past but chose these (treason because I am a Viet Nam
Veteran) because of H rating which I wanted on a
heavy Volvo wagon. I like these tires, don't get the
squeshy feeling of the Blizzaks and seems to stop just
as quickly. I have at times gotten more wiggle on ice
with the x13, but, they are not scary by any means. In
Nebraska two days ago, cars and trucks were using
the left lane on I-80 because it was less icy--I used the
right lane on 2" ice and must have passed 150 cars and trucks
on one stretch (with not one slip). Great tires and H speed
rating!!

Comments about X-Ice Xi3:
My new ride (Prius C) needed some aggressive yet smart snows. I'm a firm believer in having a dedicated set. The Michelin X Ice 3 were my first choice, rated excellent for traction, ice braking, rolling resistance (better gas mileage) and very good for road noise (won't interfere with listening to my 80's tunes). Now we can be safe, drive confident in Father Winter and still get fantastic gas mileage!! The price was very reasonable. I recently drove in a snow/rain/slush storm; spanning several states on a 12 hours road trip. I was very confident driving with Michelin X Ice 3; kept my distance from others and kept on trucking! Thanks Michelin Man!!!
