Michelin's New Defender® Tire Boasts 90,000 Mile Warranty
Low rolling resistance has become the new clarion call from car manufacturers hoping to eke out every last 1/10th of a mile per gallon for EPA ratings, but Michelin's new Defender tire takes a different tack, claiming the highest mileage warranty yet: 90,000 clicks, up to 21,000 more miles than competitors.
Pennies On The Mile: Michelin® Defender® Tires Aim to Save the Fuel, Last 90,000 Miles
Typically, if it’s not super-sticky, high-performance rubber, we’re not all that excited when new tires come out. But Michelin has some interesting ideas in the Defender, and if the tires can truly last up to 90,000 miles in the real world, the company might raise an eyebrow or two.

Comments about Defender:
I installed the Defenders on my 2007 Honda Odyssey EXL. I have put about 6k miles on them. The tires rides good and appear that they will last a long time. However, my MPG have dropped 10 -15%. There's no way I am going to save the "$250" over the lifetime of the tires - like the website claims. I actually feel like I am wasting $5 to $10 extra per fill up. Looking at the other reviews (on this website) it looks like I am not the only person this is happening to.

Comments about Defender:
I've own a complete set of these tires now for about 2 months and since then Michigan weather has changed from Show to Ice to now Rain. And these tires (Defenders) hold the road.

Michelin response:Thank you for providing your feedback in regard to your experience with Michelin Defender tires. New tires having full tread depth will have more grip and rolling resistance in comparison to worn tires. As the new tires wear, the rolling resistance decreases. Over the life of the tires, all things being equal, the fuel efficiency should improve.
