Less Than 30,000 miles

These came "standard" on my 2010 Ford Fusion. Loved the car right away - the ride was great and low road noise. I thought it was a great marriage between Ford and Michelin. So then we had less than 10,000 miles on them and were stranded in east Texas due to a blow out where the tire split the tread. Dealer replaced at no charge. Then 6 months later another tire did the same. Now - at less than 30,000 for the remaining 2 tires, I'm told that the wear is so bad I have to replace them. Tires are religiously rotated and pressure checked. In both "blow outs" the technicians/mechanics could find no evidence of a road hazard causing the failure. Additional evidence making this highly suspicious is two tires failed in exactly the same way on different roads and in different driving conditions.

I have aLexus ES350, and the MXV4 tires were put on in place of another brand when I bought the car. I have had 3 sets put on in the las 2 months. I have on 700 miles on the car. Each and every set has failed because of flatspotting. Going for the 4th set. What the heck is going on.

I drive every other day, and 10 to 15 miles each time. Lexus is telling me I don't drive the car enouigh. Never heard of such a thing. They flatspot even after on night.

Nobody seems to have the answer.

I have a 2005 Toyota Avalon Limited that I purchased new, I have rotated all 5 tires every 5000 miles. The car has a little over 40,000 miles on it, No rot after eight years, Tires have worn evenly, They are ready for replacement now, I'm puting another set of Michelins on it, My only complant is I think I should have gotten better millege out of them. I purchased a Ford Thunderbird new in 1992, rotated 5 Michelins on it every 5000 mile, I got 111,000 miles out of those tires, I guess this was a once in a lifetime thing.

                          • You need to know your vehicle's options to find out the original size of the tires for your vehicle because automobile manufacturers often use different wheel and tire sizes for different variations of a specific vehicle.

If you do not know your vehicle's options, check one of these places:

1. The original sales invoice or window sticker when you bought the vehicle.

2. Your vehicle's Owner's Manual, which will sometimes identify your vehicle's options.

3. Look on the vehicle itself. Some vehicles have a decal or lettering that indicates the options located on the side or rear of the vehicle.
                          • Find the exact tire quickly using your tire size. Check your owner's manual or tire sidewall to find the required specifications.

Knowing your tire size can help save time at the tire retailer. It also enables you to make an informed tire purchase.

You can find your vehicle's original equipment tire size in one of the following places:
1. • You can determine your tire type by looking at the tire's designation on the sidewall of your tire. The following describes the differences between the tire type designations:

P-Metric: A uniform designation of tire sizes in metric measurements. A typical P-Metric tire is P205/70R14 93S.

European Metric: This system was a conversion of the numeric system from inches to millimeters. The aspect ratio appears in the size designation in most cases where it is other than 82. A typical European Metric tire is 185/70R14 88S

Light Truck-Metric: This system is used for light truck tires, and it mirrors the P-Metric system used for passenger tires. A typical LT-Metric tire is LT245/75R16 120R.

Light Truck High Flotation: This type is for light truck tires with lower sidewalls and wider treads that yield better traction on surfaces such as sand and soft soil found in watery, off-road situations. A typical tire is 31X10.50R15 LT LRC
